I thought I would have a look at the shortlists for the awards that THG are up for, I have put them in order of what struck me.

So digital transformation of the year, says to me that THG have seriously upped their capability, and have IMO revolutionised what was going on from two or three years ago. Serious names up including Accenture’s, I have posted before about them being industry leaders in contact and call centres back in the day, and were massive players during YK2.

Secondly Tech company of the year, that points to THG being a place that at the forefront of creating solutions in IT rather than getting the likes Accenture to do it for them. So they are buying and implementing proprietary solutions, hence SaaS. this can massively drive profit if successful

Finally Retail none of the players like Asos ,AO that I am familiar with, so I think THG being shortlisted is very strong endorsement of what they do for customers.

So in summary for people that think that THG are pedestrian or behind the times in terms their technology, or that anyone can do it, i think they are incorrect, my confidence is increasing after seeing these.

If this runs-on into next week ,i suspect the brokers will be having a look again at their price targets, the SP might get away from them.

Its interesting how such an ordinary Platform and pretty poor company ( according to some posters and a section of the media) is short listed for 3 awards.

Of course the usual response to these type of awards, is that they mean nothing and being shortlisted or winning doesn’t mean anything ,and is just some mutual back patting amongst the in-crowd.

It is a fair point of view in that winning doesn't automatically drive revenue, but it does mean a lot to existing and potential employees.

I like the fact they have been shortlisted a great deal, it says to me that industry peers think what THG does is worthy of being considered for these awards, and IMO that means that the systems and tech is indeed top notch.

That's not how i read it, i thought it was balanced and shows the type of discussions that are ongoing about the future.

The LSE is clearly not supportive of these types of business, Pearson has just said they are considering moving as well.

Making it pretty clear the discussions that are ongoing, the accolade to Sir Tom Hunter is very pointed, TGL and Sir Tom exalted company indeed.

Very good spot Plutus, free for the start-up,as long as the idea and product pass muster one would assume.

I have just bought some Zero fit stuff, which us great and probably would be a good candidate for this.

At one point after he more than doubled down on his shares at 41.2 , his investment was down just over £750,000

That was when the SP was at 32p.

There were a good number of posts ridiculing him when the sp was in the 30’s and 40’s..where are those posters at this moment?

TGL doubling down was the key moment for me, if the sp gets to 130, his investment will have him 1.5 million in profit and i hope it gets there.

It strikes me that some of the stuff coming through took 2 or 3 years to get launched.

IMO there is much more to come, perhaps a lot of things that looked 'coming soon’ at IPO actually have taken years rather than months.

I of course am a glass overflowing type.

IMO it comes down to one issue, do you believe management know, understand and have a plan to deal with the issues that Oke describes, or not.

For me Buy THG and sell Ocado

Ocado with no tech spending end up like this.

No new Tech spend - 2 years time no new business coming in the door, they cant go to potential customers and say massively reduced spend on tech coming, so no innovation no improvements for you or us. This is your system take it or leave it.

Then the existing customers start getting concerned and will start to think again about renewing or worse. Ocado have to keep spending

To a lesser extent THG are the same, they are spending on the Metaverse and have been for almost year., they are automating, they are partnering other tech companies, if they stop there will be a gradual withering away.

Al IMO of course , they know the numbers and are spending as they see fit to build the business, , the future for THG is tech supporting the products they sell for themselves and others.

That IMO is the business both companies are in.

Crafty I wasn’t invested 2 years ago.. but if were I imagine i would have seen Unilever as a hot topic then, rather than boots now.

Large UT at close ,some big trades marked after market close low volumes during trading. That point to buying as many as are available at this level

Soon be running out of shares to buy at this level, we should see some upward movement over the next few weeks IMO

Thats why some of us are here Crafty,i am with you on that thought, other posters have a very negative view , my view is that MM and the new players will release value the negative view is that MM is a liability and we will never see value.

He is the majority shareholder, golden share, premium listing and so on, mean nothing. IMO

With his support he will easily fend off a challenge again IMO, clearly other posters think that Kelso can whip up enough support to get that done.

The top people here and the people that advise them are not stupid/fools etc .

Liberum will change their tune as soon as its becomes clear that the business is changing and that a new approach is coming again IMO

Although Liberumsconduct at SIS is truly reprehensible so they don't amount to much in the way of ethics again IMO
