What does it cost just to keep the country in lockdown for 1 week? Furlow payments..less tax revenue coming in. It's just economic sense for the Govt to throw a bit of cash at this and see if we can all get back to normal a bit quicker, and maybe so Christmas isn't completely ruined as well. Not to mention the lives that could be saved and the votes it would win.

Canada updates guidance for aerosol transmission and recommend that even non-medical facemasks include an additional filter layer.

I recon the next RNS will say the 5M pm have gone like hotcakes, unprecedented demand, maybe Govt will throw some money at us to increase supply, licence deals coming through, an order underway for more machines and TB to get a knighthood. Fingers crossed. We live in hope.

News just broken about Prince William getting Covid. But he's young and strong... It's the Queen I'm worried about.

@Oilgushing The masks are likely to go to the health care sector in the first instance, where they are badly needed at present. The first RNS'd contract is with a distributor selling into the NHS.

The NHS already use a large quantity of surgical masks. They know how to dispose of these as medical waste. They don't end up in the sewers, though I take your overall point that masks generally should be better designed to reduce their impact on the environment and the public better educated on disposing of face coverings responsibly.

The masks currently used by the NHS fail after about 2 hours of use due to moisture buildup making the filtration layer in the mask ineffective. The P2F masks do not only rely on the meth-blown extrusion layer to block the virus, they also include an additional virucidal layer that kills the virus and has been shown to be effective for up to 7 hours of use.

This alone means that the overall number of masks discarded will be lessened since each P2F mask will have prolonged use and may substitute for several ordinary masks. This is an environmental improvement on the status quo.

P2F are well aware of the environmental impact of disposal and as mentioned in the proactive video are researching further innovative technologies to reduce this such as making the masks compostable.

I look forward to hearing more about these new technologies when they are ready. It is great to be invested in a company that is both helping to stop a health pandemic and is also helping the environment at the same time.

I feel all warm and fuzzy to be ethically invested :)

@Torreaguas Someone I know on FB went to the hospital the other week, said first thing they did was make them take off their own mask and put on a hospital mask. It's not just staff it's patients too..more masks needed!

Remember back in April when the The US gazumped the order for French face masks and diverted them to the states instead.
USA will pay 3/4 times as much per mask internationally when their supply gets short.

Getting the masks into the NHS is part of the game plan IMHO. We have to supply in bulk against the non-covid killing incumbents. I don't expect the higher ticket price on these items. A good profit yes, but not the high figures.

Go back and watch the proactive video where Dr Cave says we are selling into the NHS. The interviewer goes "Wow!"..we all felt "Wow!" This was a natural reaction, not scripted. Getting into the NHS with a medical grade product is the GOLD Standard.

We can then take our products anywhere in the world and say "As used by the NHS staff in the Covid epidemic".
Globally there will be all sorts of local standards but the NHS claim will focus the mind wherever it is heard.

Anyone who thinks that they won't be able to sell the rest of the tested anti-viral Covid-killer masks in the middle of a 2nd wave of the Covid pandemic is deluding themselves.
More RNS's must follow as contract wins come in.
Whilst the exact profit margin on the 5M masks is debatable the MCAP is still tiny. I know which way I think the SP is going. That's why I averaged up today.
