HSE have to take such inspections very seriously.

The last death from Smallpox in the UK was an unfortunate lady who worked in an office that just happened to be underneath a lab doing experiments on it.

Ultimately if it works, I could see antiviral masks as becoming the new standard.

What hospital would pay a few pence less for a mask that was shown not to be as effective at protecting staff and patients? That kind of penny pinching gets people killed! They would have health and safety all over them.

3M made the original N95 respirator mask, from wiki

Really hope these masks are available to the public at some point. 10pm pub kickout the other day made it worse; Stuck on a train full of drunks all congregated together taking removing their masks to shout across to their mates. I want to feel safe behind my nano particle covid killer mask as soon as possible. I'd pay a fiver.

Mutated strain of the virus more has evolved to be more contagious to get round mask wearing and hand washing. IMHO Urgent need for a better mask ASAP!

@Torreaguas One key thing I took from the RNS was where it said:

"Conventional surgical type masks typically comprise of three layers, with the inner layer acting as a physical barrier to viruses and bacteria. However, they are only recommended for up to two hours of continual use as this layer can become moist and fail, thereby allowing the virus to penetrate though."

So basically the existing disposable masks need to be chucked after 2 hours of use. If we get 4 hours (or more) out of ours then I guess the price should be more comparable with 2 existing masks(or more) than 1?

If the tests show that these masks are better than the existing alternative then is it ethically acceptable for places with lots of vulnerable people to continue using the worse ones?

Sounds good! So lets get this straight; on that lower estimate of 50p profit bulk to the NHS for 5m masks per month this would generate £2.5m profit per month on a share that currently has an MCAP of about 3m! No wonder so many buying in today!
