Really liked the new innovation towards compostable or flushable masks mentioned in the video.

It seems for now we have the melt blown plastic layer like the ordinary masks as well as our patented anti-covid nano layer. If we can ditch the melt blown layer it will be big news!

There are significant issues with the provision of melt blown plastic. This is a problem internationally. It requires high upfront capital expenditure to increase capacity.

In addition there is the overall desire to produce less waste and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.

IMHO There would be clear advantages to the compostable or flushable mask (especially when combined with our anti viral nano technology).

I'd maybe consider selling the mask to big pharma for £1,...

If we sell the 5M masks in batches of 1M each like the one we know about already; That's 5 contract wins to RNS in short succession! Expecting good newsflow here.

It doesn't matter if it can be washed for the current application because the mask is 'disposable', but it would be very useful to know more about the materials properties including this, for the future applications. Of which I am sure there will be many.

I think the BOD are being canny selling in contracts of 1M to resellers rather than go direct to the NHS and offload the whole 5M. (We know they need the masks right)
I think the logic of this is to get us installed as supplier to several big mask manufacturers. When they come back and ask for more we can then licence the tech and help them produce them themselves. This avoids us needing to put too much further capital into manufacturing capability.

I've seen a few that say they work on some other virus so they will probably work on Covid. The thing here is they have no proof that is true. Maybe the public would buy that but the NHS wouldn't. IMHO the certification sets us apart, but we must take advantage of it quickly before the competition arrives.

Wouldn't like to be out of this one at the W/E :)

Sorry to be pedantic but the evidence does show that it will kill the virus for up to 7 hours. That's what the test results say.

Now OK you argue that the moisture buildup in the mask will reduce that under operational conditions. Maybe it will maybe it won't. That's not backed up by any test results though is it.

I'm going with what was stated in the RNS.

Current masks do not have a specific anti-viral layer. The layer that is acting as a physical barrier to the virus is susceptible to moisture build up and therefore fails due to it after about 2 hours. Our masks have an anti viral layer and that layer will continue to work for up to 7 hours.

The problem is not that the moisture builds up, the problem is that the build up of moisture destroys the ability to block the virus in standard masks.

The Sept RNS goes on to say:
"Combining this new active layer with the physical barrier layer, to produce four layer (ply) masks, is expected to improve user safety over a prolonged use."

Clearly prolonged use is expected. So this can not have the same limitations due to moisture build up or use would not be prolonged.

This is not about selling a few more masks because they fail quickly, much rather this is a step change in the industry where eventually the standard should be improved such that all masks are anti-viral masks.

Prolonged use of the mask will mean that mask PPE shortages are reduced which will help in the current health crisis and will result in less land fill waste. I would expect the unit price to be higher to reflect the longer use of the mask and better protection offered. I see this as very positive for #RMS

"Conventional surgical type masks typically comprise of three layers, with the inner layer acting as a physical barrier to viruses and bacteria. However, they are only recommended for up to two hours of continual use as this layer can become moist and fail, thereby allowing the virus to penetrate though."

23 Oct RNS
"These tests confirmed that the coated face mask textile displayed high virucidal activity, meeting the requirements for ISO 18184 certification with more than a 90% kill rate for up to 7 hours, while being benign to healthy mammalian cells (ISO 18184 is the international anti-viral textile standard that measures virucidal antimicrobial activity on textiles and other porous materials)."

So anti-viral activity aside this mask lasts 3.5 times as long as the ones they use now before needing to be replaced.

With the warrants; Could it be that the directors just wanted the extra voting rights to make sure the P2F sale goes through OK at the GM?

Assuming those mask use projections were published pre-covid? 4.4% seems rather cautious given the current pandemic. Still good to see that the market was expected to grow anyway.

Must remember of course that the face masks were only one potential application of the anti-viral material. As confirmed by the previous RNS, "air filters, face masks and other PPE" are all potentially possible:

"In readiness for commercial release, P2F will shortly make a patent application to protect its technology for producing the antiviral material, which it is confident could be applied to air filters, face masks and other PPE."
