I think it's just a fallback to make sure RMS can get the masks out if there are any teething problems with the machine. Quite sensible really.

Volz already supply the German ans Slovak health services as well as their distributor network. I expect they are seeing excess demand for the masks just like RMS are. I think it's a flavor to RMS to help with our contingency planning nothing more. GLA DYOR

Not quite sure what to make of the 3 month trial period for Alex. Any ideas why this might be good or bad?

I worry that TB brings in cronies and then they vote Alex out after 3 months. Is that still possible? Is the BOD change settled now since the last RNS or is this still up for voting on?

On the plus side I guess he has something to prove and it could drive him to deliver the goods for RMS?

In the UK the NHS picks up the tab but overseas people pay for their own medical costs.

Will the antiviral mask succeed? Just ask yourself the following question:

"Would you spend a few quid on a covid killing mask if you thought it might save you $20k on treatment cost and avoid a life & death trip to intensive care?"

Based on some guesstimates that Volz will have equivalent to 6 machines ie 30M capacity per month and if we get 10p per mask for our antiviral layer(figures plucked out of thin air with no basis).

That could be £3m revenue per month for letting Volz use our antiviral layer(just for masks).
Though very likely they will be investigating other applications like filters given that this is the main thing they do.

5m/4 is 1.25m. so a single week of the machine operating at 5m capacity would represent almost as much as that state will be produced in Feb. I don't think ramping up production could account for this discrepancy.

There are few staff with the automated system. If staff training is a bottle neck it would be worthwhile to hire someone from the manufacturer to come over from Spain initially.

Given that RRP of each mask is £1 the reduction in Feb would resulting in 3.6m reduction in revenue. I'd think they could pull out more stops to get this going if they really wanted to.

"The delays in the machine delivery and mask approval testing noted above mean that expected maximum production volumes of 4 ply masks in Nottingham are likely to be 0.5m and 1.3m units in January and February 2021 respectively."

Any idea why the expected production for February would be reduced due to a delay in January?

Surely the machine is up and running and producing masks in Jan, so why does this reduce Feb production from 5m to 1.3m?

Another negative spin to the RNS.

Really no justification for the raise or the warrants if they cant give specifics of why the money is needed after they said that it wasn't.

The RNS saying they need to raise the money makes no sense to me.

They say that it will accelerate Gyrometric and Cloudveil projects but then admit that they have not yet evaluated or ranked these projects..so how can they say that it will accelerate them in the first place? That just seems contradictory, confused and irrational IMHO.

That explains why P2F are hiring for 1 machine operator and not a dozen. This machine is fully automated. Expect this will reduce staff overhead compared to many older labour intensive production lines.

24 x 60 = 1440 minutes per day.
150 per minute x 1440 = 216000
165 per minute x 1440 = 237600

365 x 216000 = 78840000 per year
365 x 237600 = 86724000 per year

Calculating 1 month as 1/12 of year rather than a calendar month:
78840000/12=6,570,000
86724000/12=7,227,000

So the manufacturer of the machine puts it's expected monthly mask production at between 6.5M and 7.2M masks if used continuously.

I'd assume the lower figure from RMS is either because they have allowed for some downtime for maintenance or that they have been conservative with their estimates.

If I were a skeptical person I'd say that's why they aren't giving the vaccine to NHS workers now. There would be such a backlash if it started killing them off. The old people in the homes they can just brush it under the carpet and say it was Covid not the vaccine.
