RE: New Machine20 Dec 2020 13:58
A couple of thinks I pick up about the machine:
https://bit.ly/34y2TjQ
1)
"This system is 100% automatic to avoid human contact with the final product during the manufacturing process. "
That explains why P2F are hiring for 1 machine operator and not a dozen. This machine is fully automated. Expect this will reduce staff overhead compared to many older labour intensive production lines.
2)
"he estimated production speeds will be between 150-165 units per minute, which will feature CE marking and quality components."
24 x 60 = 1440 minutes per day.
150 per minute x 1440 = 216000
165 per minute x 1440 = 237600
365 x 216000 = 78840000 per year
365 x 237600 = 86724000 per year
Calculating 1 month as 1/12 of year rather than a calendar month:
78840000/12=6,570,000
86724000/12=7,227,000
So the manufacturer of the machine puts it's expected monthly mask production at between 6.5M and 7.2M masks if used continuously.
I'd assume the lower figure from RMS is either because they have allowed for some downtime for maintenance or that they have been conservative with their estimates.
