@rebel100 That's true. I heard somewhere that they may have to make it every year like the flu jab to cover new strains too. Hopefully with more data they will get a better handle on how long each vaccine is effective for and can use that to inform their mask strategy.

Once the vaccine starts being given widely, anyone having had 2 doses really doesn't need to use N95 mask to protect themselves from Covid since they will then have substantial immunity due to the vaccine.

They may still infect other people though so our anti-viral surgical mask would become an idea lower cost substitute for N95 in Covid situations to prevent infection of others. IMHO DYOR GLA

Fantastic! Once the NHS use the masks we can say 'as used by the NHS' in our marketing.

Also, people don't like to have something then have it taken away from them. If NHS staff start using the masks they will demand to continue using them when the freebees run out.

It really struck home to me to see how/where they are already using surgical masks within their procedures and where our anti-viral surgical mask could potentially be a drop in improvement to enhance their measures even further.

No doubt NHS wanted us to achieve certification and get the results of their own investigations before deciding if they want to place orders en masse.

The RNS'd 'conditional' order was from a distributor to the NHS but was conditional amongst other things on them being able to get an order from the NHS.

Whilst they will want to make sure they are thorough with their investigation, I don't think they can drag their heels for too long after we start producing given all that is going on in the world with the virus mutations, vaccine, NHS Dr's and nurses PPE demands etc..

I do agree there will be plenty of others who will want the masks even if the NHS don't.

It seems to me that it is really excellent news that the certified 4ply mask is so close to the threshold for FFP3 (98.77% vs 99%).

This indicates that there is every possibility that a small tweak in the design could allow them to submit modified designs in the future and may reach the 90% level with a 4ply mask rather than requiring the extra filter layer of a 5ply.

The requirement to use less melt blown plastic in our mask is a major win since this component is generally in short supply and expensive.
