I've bought in today. Like the limited but concentrated and funded drilling plans. Also it's in a more dependable part of the world.

Rathlin is the controller of W.N and we know they do not want to a producer but will sell as soon as the true value is known. It is unlikely that W.N. will be big enough to interest a major. This leaves mid-cap oil and gas producers like Serica as potential buyers. But what if they only want to take a controlling half? Rathlin alone would suit them, leaving UJO whistling. Not a nice thought.

Good to see something's going on. Given a good farm-out, we should see the SP heading north by 10-20 percent.

One hears a lot from those that sold out at 53(lucky?) but, curiously, nothing from those who bought in (unlucky?)at that price. As a LTH, I'm content to avoid luck and wait for the price to get to over 60 again. And, yes, that may not be for another six months. If I was clever enough and devoted all my time to share-watching, I'd be buying a long option at the current price.
My only concern is what the intentions are with the remaining 16% of share held by Kerogen. What happens if they sell out to BP?

BMN is a good share to be in but I'd advise splitting your funds. Consider Ceres Power and Amerisur oil but don't rush it, read the boards but remember they tend to be optimistic.

It's a depressing time for oilies because a lack of realism sweeps the markets, everything going to be electric, oil must be green, taxation and blah blah. Only problem is that will take five years to have any significant effect. Not that I'm against conservation, just that I like to be realistic. Example: it takes more resources to build a car than it ever uses to run it. But, re Pantheon, we've been told they've had unsolicited interests in Alaska and they are about to start a road show. It's not unreasonable to expect some deal will emerge by end September. I'm holding.

Slowroll, At least we survived long enough to get involved with Hurricane. And despite all the blah blah, this remains a sensible investment that will (subject to outrageous fortune) pay off well for those who can hang on in until next Spring.

AD, one should not be too precise about angles, it's all a question of degree! In some previous life I had to go dive-bombing and the perfect angle to release a bomb is 60, but diving at the ground at this angle induces a degree of fear in the pilot that the bomb and contents of the bowels are released simultaneously. Of course, if the dive angle were to be increased to 90 then bomb and bowel contents would hit the ground at the same time.

Oil futures are down and, for the moment, market sentiment is against oil. Also the nagging fear of an economic downturn, all factors weighing on the SP. In the end value will come through. I'm sitting tight on Amer, Hurricane and Pantheon.. Farting against thunder? Just enjoy!

All this talk about micro-organisms has me worried as I am shortly to be consumed by them. Is it true that you can be both alive and dead at the same time? Example: the House of Commons. .Would you advise staying alive so as to delay the release of my carbon in to wherever carbon goes when you are dead?
