Many thanks for the flow of info, Monkshood. It's good to see the SP starting to move in the right direction.
I'm curious to know who's buying all this Saudi oil. America? Certainly not any longer. China? But they're tied into Russian oil and Iran. Europe? There's plenty around the Med plus North Sea and Nigeria. Seems to me that the Saudi must be filling ships - but for how long?
If Longwait is right, the Saudis will feel the pain very shortly. How delightful!
Given the likely trajectory of the price of gold, this share price will seem very cheap in six month's time.
It would be nice to get back to break-even on one share in my portfolio! If only the POG doesn't collapse by everyone having to sell to cover losses elsewhere...
At least one director thinks as I do and puts his money where his mouth is.
Like Monkshead, I had this as a hedge against oilers but it hasn't worked -yet. I think if there had been any problems with production we would have to have seen an announcement, therefore I believe it is safe to assume all is well. In that case, we will trade our way out of the present situation and re-rate. The state the market is in, anything can happen but I'm reasonably confident of a considerable up-lift by the end of 2020.
Most BB's have some experts who give advice/views for the rest of us to consider. I'm sorry we don't seem to have such info on this board. My simple take on the current situation is that, whatever the churning of shares represents disgruntled shareholder selling out, the fact that we're producing 500,000 oz a year at the current margins must eventually overwhelm every other consideration. Contrary views?
I'm well underwater with Hurricane but relaxed about it. This is a company that's making money and controls its own fate. Sure, I hoped to make a quick fortune - that's why I ploughed too much in - but I've changed my time scale to a year out. Much rather hold H. than some oilers in need of money.
As usual, the market makes no sense short term. With the price of gold as it is, this must go up.
The present events will really hit the USA shalers, that's long term good for us. My take on the rest of this year is that only oilers with a positive cash-flow and no debt to pay off are worth looking at.
I would imagine that anyone selling now will be selling at a loss and probably a big one. No news from Dr.T so no change in the fundamentals. Oh well...
Spirit are in an awful position. If Lincoln is abandoned, they will have spent a fortune with nothing to show for it other than a half share in an undeveloped oil field. Can't see anyone wanting to buy them out - except Hurricane for a song!
Don'tknow if it's because of Vox but a curious jump in the SP today. Something going on behind the scenes?
This should, on the facts, be a reliable bet for 2020, IMO.
We've been officially told that there is no operational problem and that we are about to start producing at 20,000 a day. That's good enough for me although I look forward to more news on the oil field development timing.
As for the worriers... If you pick your nose for long enough, your head will cave in.
