Thanks for your steer, Hopeingmore, I've sold at a loss and put my money into BMN. Better to take a loss and move on than by stuck - I've been there before.
Monkshood, you may be right -it's open to interpretation- but only four days ago the company forecast 500,000 oz production for 2020. They must surely have known about the Ravenswood sale at that point so are you implying that they mislead investors by including Ravenswood figures?
Please correct me if I'm being as dumb as usual, but we've been promised 2 divi's of 2.75p this year. At a share price of around 50p that equates to a 10% dividend, does it not?
I am one of those like LONGWAIT except my shareholding is less. My take is that we have been given the forecast flow for the whole year and if there had been any substantial reason to change that forecast, a RNS should have been issued. It has not. Therefore I am here to wait for the SP to claw back.
There remains the question of why the SP is where it is. Undoubtedly one reason is a strange desire for some to rubbish the company. Perhaps setting up a situation for a dawn raid, who knows?
If fresh drilling started the mood would change but can you move a rig in the teeth of a gale?
My hope is that it will penetrate the mind of an extraordinarily complacent BOD, that this falling SP is not in their interests any more than PI's and that they'll issue a statement or whatever.
Meanwhile, it's white knuckle time...
Good to see some agitators at work. Personally, I'd like to see the grand strategy laid out with some dates or specific targets.
Many thanks to all for your helpful suggestions. More admin work to do but hopefully worth it!
I've been with my stockbroker for many years but he's expensive and I find that I want to deal more frequently. Any suggestions for a reliable but low- cost on line dealer?
My understanding is that the BOD are steadily de-risking/increasing the portfolio of assets and that there is an inbuilt assumption that when the perceived value is sufficient a major will buy in or takeover Hurricane. Some way to go but there'a risk if the SP stays too low we will receive an unwelcome bid.
I have not sold. If the vote goes against, it will be because the big boys are staying in. I'm with them.
My take on all the hoo-hah is that many expected Hurricane to be a get-rich-quick opportunity with a six months horizon. In the event it has turned out to be a get-rich-slow opportunity with a two year horizon. This does not suit many, after all there are many undervalued oil companies to invest in. Result a selling blizzard.
Me, I'm in too deep to want to run. I shall wait and let Hurricane do the work for me. Unlike Amerisur, it has a BOD dedicated to getting the job done.
Wonder when we will hear result - and comments! Twist or bust.
I liked you caution re investing. How do you view a company with 75% of the shares are held by half a dozen II's?
