25, 2021, Simon Potter, CEO of BPC, said:
"Despite numerous opportunities and requests over many, many years from BPC to the environmentalist groups to input constructively into a wide range of detailed processes and documents, they have opted instead to do nothing, and then belatedly and at the last minute try to derail a project more than a decade in the planning and which, in the event of success, would be for the betterment of The Bahamas. Their attempts to date have not been successful and drilling of Perseverance #1 continues. By April we will know if the Bahamas is an oil-rich nation.”

The drilling program for Perseverance #1 is expected to take between 45-60 days, and will be undertaken on a 'tight-hole' basis - an industry protocol (and one required by the Government of The Bahamas) whereby real-time well information and drilling results will generally be kept confidential until the conclusion of drilling and testing procedures, and until any appropriate notifications to Government representatives have been made. The well has been designed specifically as an exploration well, with the sole objective of establishing the presence of hydrocarbons through a range of tests that will be conducted as the well is drilled. Perseverance #1 has not been designed to ever operate as a production well, such that at the conclusion of the drilling program the well will be permanently sealed and then abandoned.

Bahamas Petroleum 18th Jan 2021 quote CEO S. Potter - he seems to be confident of a successful outcome.
Mr Potter said: “Set aside in this manner as a form of ‘national savings,’ future income from a Sovereign Wealth Fund can directly benefit not only this generation but future generations through, as in other nations, an annual dividend payment to all citizens, infrastructure development, educational and vocational subsidies and the like. One of the world’s most well-known Sovereign Wealth Funds is that of Norway, which has seen tremendous wealth accumulated for the benefit of all Norwegians, as that country’s oil and gas resources have been successfully and safely developed over the past five decades.”

In your youtube link, the 'Wealth Fund' is mentioned only a couple of weeks ago...good idea if a large find made
Bahamas Prime Minister Minnis in a statement said a 'Sovereign Wealth Fund' will be brought to life.
in reply BPC’s CEO, Simon Potter said...
"If the company finds commercial quantities of oil, royalties from its production would “provide exactly the kind of excess cash” the nation’s leader anticipates for a Bahamas Sovereign Wealth Fund.
Mr Potter said a Sovereign Wealth Fund has the capacity to make money for the government and diversify the economy. He said: “Four years ago, The Bahamas passed legislation to establish the framework for a Bahamian Sovereign Wealth Fund, an initiative which BPC actively supported. The many natural resources in The Bahamas, including its potential oil resource, have the capacity to add an entirely new income stream to the government of The Bahamas, thereby diversifying the economy and significantly broadening the government’s revenue base. “We are thus delighted with Prime Minister Minnis’ statements today indicating how the Sovereign Wealth Fund will be brought to life. Royalty payments to the government, for instance, if BPC were to find commercial quantities of oil from its exploratory well ‘Perseverance 1’ and thereafter bring that oil into production, would provide exactly the kind of excess cash the Prime Minister envisages to be paid into a Sovereign Wealth Fund.”
BPC said establishing such a fund would bring The Bahamas in line with similar funds maintained by other countries to enable accumulation of wealth for the national benefit from natural resources. Mr Potter said: “Once established, such a wealth fund would allow the government a much greater degree of choice than currently exists to promote and safeguard the wellbeing of all Bahamians. Choices, for example, to pay down the national debt, or to invest in infrastructure and services that better the lives of its citizens; the possibilities are many.”
BPC Logging Plan
The drilling assembly includes sophisticated electronic Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools to evaluate the formation parameters in real-time as the well is being drilled.
Logs may also be run on electric line to supplement the LWD measurements. Used together, the logs provide a profile of the entire length of the wellbore by measuring a variety of including electrical, acoustic, and radioactivity parameters of the drilled formation.
Analysis of the logs will allow BPC to estimate factors including lithology, porosity, permeability, fluid content, volumes, and which zones within the well are most likely to produce hydrocarbons.
The conventional logs run include: · Gamma-ray – Effectively measures the content of clay minerals; · Resistivity – Allows the estimation of the type of fluid present in the pore space in the formation; · Sonic logs – Measure the time it takes an acoustic wave to travel a certain distance; this helps in the estimation of the density and porosity of the formation; · Density - Measures the apparent density of the formation; needed to estimate the porosity of the formation; · Neutron – Indicates the content of hydrogen in the formation; this helps identify zones with greater pore space in the formation, in which hydrocarbons may be stored.
4.2.6 Coring During the drilling operations, BPC will periodically collect rock samples via sidewall coring. In this process sampling devices are driven into the sidewalls of the well to extract samples of the rock. In addition, in good potential reservoir depths, BPC may elect to extract rock cores through the drilling process.
2.4.3
Decommissioning and Abandonment Following drilling, the well will be either temporarily or permanently abandoned and the rig will move away to its next assignment. Determination of abandonment type (temporary or permanent) will depend on data collected during the drilling, logging and testing (if any) activities.

Coman quote
"The presentation states that P1 well location was chosen as it encounters;
'Stacked plays from Upper Jurassic megabank and reef systems throughout the Lower Cretaceous' which means the well will encounter several targets (ie possible reservoirs which may or may not be connected - logging data would confirm). I'm not sure if the 10 highlighted sections on the diagram on page 11 are targets or just identifying different formation tops - the bottom 2 (ie base Aptian and PTD) most likely show where they plan in stopping drilling, ie a certain amount of metres below the base Aptian so they are not targets. However, the presentation also states they have a contingency to go deeper so based on what they encounter up to that depth they may believe there is another possible target deeper than this."
