RE: Scotland are going for full lockdown tonight.4 Jan 2021 15:27
Fourfiguresbull, I hear you with Spain, but its hard to compare Spain with the UK, same with Portugal and the UK and NZ. Outside of the major cities like Madrid, Seville/Portugal/Lisbon, Porto etc people tend to listen to the local câmara instructons (fica em casa) plus the cops have more local knowledge, they know everyone/grown up with all the locals, hunt together, football etc etc...Even the foreigners know the local cops pretty well. My point being when the locals outside the cities are told to do something, they do it. I am over in Portugal, South, we have just come out of full lockdown, 4 days over the new year...everyone has to wear a mask, you can't even cross your local câmara/council area borders, if you get caught you are in for a heavy fine.
Try that in the UK, imagine it/even in France/Germany you wouldn't get away with it. The result being the cases in the South of Portugal are tiny, in my area there are 60,000 people and we have 2 cases (reported).
You know the old saying, 'with liberties come responsibilities'
Looks like Boris is on TV at 8 tonight, I take a punt and it goes like this, ' I did say yesterday in two weeks blah blah, but after 'new' information I am locking you all down from Thursday' rubs his hair with his hand!
