Interesting thread. Personally I don't buy into the thinking that the CEO, head of the company cannot multi-task. With any company, its run by a team of people, and ultimately the head man makes the final decisions based on feedback. As long as there is the correct structure in place, genereal manager (s) operation manager (s) and their teams are running relatively smoothly, it works. I presume GB and others have PA's.
I started on the street markets, one man band, up at 4am, off you go. Got into bigger markets, bigger stalls, staff. Got into the festival circuit, Glasto, Reading etc, bigger stalls, more staff. Got my 1st shop in 97, started my journey in 94 - 1999, 3 shops, 3 markets a week, 16 festivals - more and more staff - Each 'business' had a ops manager, with a understudy. Incentivized, trusted, treated with respect - two way street. I opened up a website, late 99, more staff (no idea how to turn a PC on) Two more sites followed, more staff, same framework. All three sites by 2006 employed 200+ - Festival/Market side sold off to the two ops managers (it was actually free, apart from vehicles/stock) Sold 2 shops, one closed to change in lease. Created a brand of products, distrubtion/wholesale/retail, went to the HK show in 2002 - Found a manufacture, back and forwards from China for 3 years, spent 22 month on the ground . The Chinese factory employed 33,000 people, started by a guy unloading lorries, met him when he was 73 - He had 17 shirt colours to identify the workforce, white being the top guys, the GM's, all the way down to the cleaner - Everyone had a shirt colour, everyone knew their job, anyone could climb the shirt ladder, and over 10 years I saw that, an amazing owner.
Point I am making, you don't need to concentrate on one business, that way of thinking will never created a serious company, its a team game. I presume the RNS/MSYS situation will be become clearer over the coming months. If not, then its just a money play, after all, money has no friends or relatives - Either way, buggar all PI's can do, trust in the management is the only play we have.
CBD - I have spent 25 years in the cannabis industry. There are some serious players in Europe, makes DVRG turnover look like a outing for the a staff trip to Vegas. Example - https://pharma-lab.eu/
The Skin Trust site imo is pi-s-s poor - Makes no sense why this is, its actually unblieveable how poor it is - I can only guess this has been done on purpose. David Beckham (DB Ventures) Cellular Goods are doing an IPO, all CBD products - The reason I mention this, CBD is where the real action long term is, DVRG have missed the last 8 years in this industry, the real set up before this next step up. I hope the BoD understand what/where the industry is heading, and are positioning themselves. It will be very intersting to see if DVRG are playing a role with Cellular Goods.
