A good start, just need them to keep pushing with it.
I know buybacks are not everyone's "cup of tea" but we could actually see some SP growth if its continued with EVERY set of results and that ridiculous share mountain is cut down somewhat!

Correct, I don't watch my main long-term investments, the likes of say BHP Group just look after themselves.
I had hoped this would be similar, Take a decent position a few years ago, sit tight, collect the "progressive" dividends and get some capital growth, simple,
NOT.....
I will carry on holding this and have the occasional "look in" to see what's going on but I'm glad I didn't buy an additional 6 figure amount in 2020 like I very nearly did!

I don't come on here all the time "moaning" I normally pop up at around results to discuss and then I quietly drift off and do my own thing until next time!
All my point is when lloyds re started the dividends in I think 2017 there was a buzz about it, dividends were rising and it payed over 3p in 2019 (I'm guessing now, on my phone and haven't got time to check!) It looked like it was getting back to the "old times" despite the PPI malarkey, but since the Government/PRA/Covid crepe its died a death.
We will see what happens but I can just see this bobbing about sub 55p at Christmas.

Yes it does, and maybe if this wasn't being "day traded to death" and the incentives and the vision was there that this is a good long term investment the return of that type of investor may push up the SP.

We will see if they carry on with the buybacks, and I hope they do because if they take 20 billion shares off the table over the next say 5 years we SHOULD get some SP growth!

Yes and to a degree so am I but my point being is we want people to WANT to own this share.
Until the drivers are there to excite investors we are just going to keep bobbing along.
The "drivers" could be,
Buybacks,
Decent dividends,
Mergers or acquisitions
Again I don't have the answers but this share/company is just lacking!

The problem is there's no "excitement" with this share.
If you weren't already invested here there's nothing to make you want to say YES that's where I'm going to put my money.
I know it's a difficult one and I don't have the answers but this was an opportunity to do "SOMETHING"...... Even say a special divi?
Even if it was half a penny.
I will continue to hold but like the last couple of years I WILL NOT add.....

1.33p is what we'll be paid in May, so 2p in total for the financial year.
Haven't commented over the last couple of days as concentrating on my UK/Russian holdings but am I the only one who is disappointed with the returns.
Buybacks could be a good start though "IF" they keep them going....

It's OK for the UK, USA & Europe to continue buying Russian oil & gas.....
Hope BP tells them to feck off....

Most of Rosneft's oil goes to China, China won't give a monkey's about any U.S sanctions.
Anyway we (UK, U.S & The EU) are continuing to BUY oil and gas from Russia and are sending payments for those commodities.

One of the reasons why BP OWNS 19.75% of Rosneft is because a cash and shares deal wad done with 18.5% of Rosneft, BP already owned 1.25%
I will wait for your evidence.
