SC, thanks for the reminder: I'll admit it had slipped my mind. I agree that these two will work hand in glove, but I'm also conscious that, no matter what is said, even if it's positive for PMs, they never seen to miss an opportunity to smash the metals every time Powell speaks.

Matt, good luck with your investment. I hold UKW & GRP, with a small holding here (where I'm down 15%). I'm looking to add here at some point as I see considerable value, certainly in comparison to the wider sector (including my other holdings). Any idea why this is so unloved (in respect to its rivals)?

OK: so we've had a great start to the year (+25%) but I'll admit that, looking at the wider market, I just don't see what drives this day-to-day. I appreciate this is the utility sector & is counter-cyclical, but I find myself completely unable to either predict, or even retrospectively explain the moves in the share price.

Is anyone able to explain what's going on? TIA.

Both Atkinson's Bullion & Bullion By Post have silver bars in stock (albeit a rather limited selection). There is a better selection of coins from the same retailers, although good luck getting Britannias anywhere: they're all gone.

Carvegyber, I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I hate to see the value of my portfolio go down (although I do reconcile myself with the knowledge that PM investments are really just insurance). On the other, it does present another buying opportunity.

Once you recognise what ALWAYS happens to fiat currencies, EVERY SINGLE TIME, you can then rationalise ANY gold price less than infinity £s as being fundamentally cheap.

I'm not one to put faith in technical analysis, but this video was posted this-morning &, lo & behold, within hours, we have a gold sell-off:-

The implication is that it could fall further to $1,740 / £1,270 in the short term, before rising strongly. I find it interesting but don't really place any faith in T/A. Someone with a better understanding of it may wish to comment further.

They're having a really good go at the metals now.

Be careful what you wish for. A return to the gold standard will see GLOBAL gold confiscation on "national security" grounds. They don't call it "The Great Reset" for nothing.

Gavster, yes: I enjoyed listening to that this-morning. You really must wonder just how much influence Melvin Capital have within the WSBs arena.....having been squeezed initially, it now seems that current events are playing out PERFECTLY for them.
