Yep: they're defending those lines like the Alamo. BTW, the US REPO market has just gone jugs-up again (like in mid-September 2019). I'd suggest this is what's driving metal prices higher. It could blow-over... On the other hand, it could just blow.

Very little coverage in the MSM (surprisingly /s) but ZeroHedge are on it (for anyone who wants to read about it). I understand it, but the implications of it (i.e. which way the Central Banks will pivot) are a little harder for me to fathom. Either way, it seems that The Fed has to **** or get off the pot.

If anyone here has a thorough understanding of what's going on over there, I (& no doubt others here, too) would be grateful for an explanation.

...a geo-political issue (in Mexico) that we're not considering? I'm just looking to explain the disconnect between the share price here & the price of the actual shiny stuff itself. I don't believe there is (FRES's partner (MAG Silver) is up over 40% in the last two months: that would not be the case were there issues in Mexico); just looking for an explanation (& yes: I take on board the index expulsion & short position - they're obviously factors, but the scale of the disconnect just seems truly ridiculous to me).

Holding for the LT here, & whilst I'm already at my limit for any single share, I see an opportunity here to really make a mint. In the event of any significant dip, I'll treble-down (having already doubled-down late last year).

Metals rose sharply on US inflation data. Silver AGAIN hits $28 & AGAIN immediately gets whacked back down. Take a look at the graph: it's really quite blatant.

A fall in commodity prices? I'll admit I don't follow it that closely & those falls may not extend to "our" commodities, but that shoe may fit...

I ain't selling ANYTHING. Not miners, not other stocks, not phys, not crypto: NOTHING!

For now, the rout seems contained to the crypto space. I suspect there'll be bargains to be had in the months ahead.

Historically, when inflation rears its head, it does so VERY suddenly. Reminds me of the quote about bankruptcy (I forget who said it...might've been Oliver Reed):-

Inflation is the same. FRES holders here will not be fully protected but will fare better than most. That's why I (& I imagine many others here) am a holder.

Technically, you do not even need to print currency to cause hyper inflation: a simple loss of confidence in the currency is all that is required. In the case of Weimar Germany, my understanding (which may not be 100% correct) is that the hyper inflation was not due to foreign-denominated debt, it was simply loss of confidence in the Mark (or the Rettenmark...I think the Rettenmark succeeded the Mark). Foreign countries refused to accept it & insisted on payment in GOLD.

The Roman Denari , effectively the world's first reserve currency (given its wide usage) started life as a 999-fine silver coin. Persistent re-smelting at lower purities effectively debased the currency until it was essentially worthless. You can actually determine the date of a Roman coin based on its silver content: the higher the purity, the older the coin.

The period that followed the Roman empire was known as the Dark Ages for very good reason. Collapse of any currency is a catastrophic event for its local people. Collapse of a WRC bodes ill for every man, woman & child on the planet. The lifecycle of most empires is intrinsically linked to the success of its currency.

Carvegyber: simply not true. Currency printing is inflation. Mass currency printing is hyper-inflationary. There are plenty of examples throughout history. All of them, to be precise.

Until you can identify Covid (& you can't with an RT-PCR "test" (& the lateral flow tests are WORSE)), all talk about cases & deaths from it are invalid. Yesterday, 3 more people died within 28 days of eating sprouts. I mean, just think about it. It's totally arbitrary. When did we EVER confirm cause of death in this manner??? They're basically admitting that they can't properly determine cause of death so "we're just going to class it as CV". Like the guy whose parachute didn't open. Cause of death??? CV. Seriously (rolls eyes).
