As said in past, I do not like it when any outfit drills, discovers, but does not test, Char did that offshore, and we are STILL waiting for them to do something with the onshore discovery, along with PRD who have drilled multiple wells and only now heading back to test, and not without problems.

If you have what is deemed a good or excellent discovery, then bloody well move to test ASAP and at least prove at that location you have commercial levels of flow.

The issue I see for Char now is that this drill was focused on upside to the original Anchois footprint from the Char drills, now this reduction in the greater field size will impact any development costs relative to recoverables, if Energean decide to walk then Char simply do not have the capacity to fund the development off their own backs, placings will not cut it.

I would not be surprised to see renegotiation result in Energean only sticking in with those original development deals, if they are gifted a larger proportion of Char's remaining %.

Without a JV it is likely dead in the water.

I hate it when outfits drill wells but do not go to test them to see what they actually have to at least establish will it flow, what it flows (gas, condensate, oil, water content), what rate can be achieved with or without stimulation, does it achieve what can be deemed commercial levels.

This is logical in the industry, what isn't logical is drilling wells, and sitting on them for an eternity before actually demonstrating their capacity, same with PRD, in fact worse with them, they drilled multiple wells and are now only just on with attempting to test the 1st well.

There is no excuse, and it leaves far too many questions unanswered when they don't go from drill, discovery, and then test within a sensible timeline and before they do anything else on any licence/block.

It is my opinion on the current Gov, as for milliband, he operates the same as water, it ALWAYS takes the easiest route, and that will result in WInd, Solar, Nuclear, Wave & Battery storage taking continues front of stage for some considerable time....

BUT even if this lame arriss Gov does attempt to run for net zero as they claim, THEY will STILL primarily focus on what they know already works and has simple, basic structure and can be rolled out with great ease, THAT BEING Wind, Solar Wave, , Nuclear & giga battery storage.

Hydrogen is WAY WAY down the list of priority, if at all.

The first target is water bearing IN the footwall EXPLORITORY target, the MAIN drill, the sidetrack HAS encountered gas bearing sands in the FIRST B sands, and they will continue drilling down to the other targets !!

Anyone who believes that the Gov are going to give out LOI on funding such projects is DREAMING,,, they will not commit any LOI to any project of any sort until they have done a thorough review of what projects are on the table, then full evaluation and justifications, and even then it would only be a generalised LOI which will then go through selection process, due diligence, local reviews and environmental surveys, and then one or two "might" get put in the raffle for possible supportive funds. likely YEARS before a penny is actually ever seen.
