In fairness, I do "think" they have actually stabilised the SP/MC at this level with some of the changes made over the last year, so personally I think downside is minimal give or take 15%.

The real problem I have is seeing where TRUE upside would come from, because SLBY is really undermined for a long time with everything needed to keep up with decline and then when repayment kicks in. Brockham is just a pile of nothingness and remains worthless, other than maybe enough to eventually cover most or all of the P&A and restoration.

I don't see that they have funds to stretch out for anything "new" of real retail worth, certainly not for a good while.

The Booster compressor is not news, it was always going to be needed and done, I hope for them that they are ALSO doing surface modifications to handle more induced liquids, as it will result in lower flowing pressures to surface which inturn naturally will induce more liquids production.

It also begs the question as to why they didn't try and get the booster in and running NOW, they had time to bring it forward if they wanted to, and then they could have made the best of those winter prices, where as now it will likely be at best spring before it actually brings any "initial" benefit. Add to that, it also means they will be interrupting field productivity to install and connect such surface kit. Stupid really !!!

Well as always, the simplest way to see if an outfit is delivering for RETAIL, is to go to the chart, look at it over the last 2-3-4 years, what's it show ??? hmmm yes 2 years of constant downward trend from 1.8p to 0.025p triffic !!!!!!!!!

I would personally expect end of life/depleted gas fields to be opted for rather than making NEW salt caverns, not like there is any shortage of them for UK to use lol,,, no issues with getting rid of heavy brine for years, no issue with eco locals, the depleted gas fields are volume ready to receive... even Saltfleetby could become one in the future.... loads of em on and offshore UK

It is quiet funny really, I recall in my early years with Schlumberger, we used to go over to Billingham (Teeside) one of the countries biggest coastal industrial areas, that had around 30 salt caverns, we used to run electric line logging tools in them which mapped the cavern walls to ensure they mapped the same every 2-3 years relative to integrity etc, the 1950's they were going strong, right through to just a few years ago.. like I said, nowt new.

Making a few salt caverns is NOT rocket science, it is VERY old tech, but it does take a VERY long time to create, which is both VERY costly and sensitive to local communities etc, add to that, at best, if they were to get some company suckered in to fund all the necessaries AND assuming it was to be granted etc etc, then it is almost certain that this shower would AT BEST be a VERY minor stake holder in the final project, which AT BEST would only result in keeping THEM in their seats munching hobnobs for longer...
