Apparently Tory membership has fallen 40% in his constituency but that is because he is so unpopular. And did not Labour in its last manifesto agree to honour the referendum result which the duplicitous Corbyn is now going back on. The fact is most MPs did not like nor support the referendum result and that it why it is such a shambles

You have forgotten the referendum which was direct democracy. Even if to be fair it was not binding. California often put special things on their voting forms and Switzerland decide important matters by referenda simultaneous with other votes.

So yould prefer selection by bigwigs and the great and good to people actually signed up as party members.Strange sort of democracy rotten boroughs spring to mind

Consider some really good unit trusts too. Look into investment trusts. These are closed ended funds but they can trade above the net asset value which is a premium not usually good value or a discount which means you are buying on the cheap. The Telegraph often features these with recommendations. The weekly Investors Chronicle is useful if expensive but you can subscribe to Master Investor on line absolutely free.
