I believe the tariff free food imports to UK are 11%. 29% of our food imports come from EU countries. N & S America, Asia and Africa are 4% each. 69% of our vegetables come from just 2 countries. In Italy by far the most come from within Italy apart from a bananas, pineapples, asparagus at the wrong time of year. If it is not seasonal you won't get it. I enjoy going to the market's where the food is from a few kilometres down the road.

True but you ignore that imports of similar food stuffs will have lower tariffs from outside the eu. and of course could be better if eu would reorganise the CAP
