Snow road construction had commenced Mid December and although some ~70 miles from the community Snow road to Umiat Airport construction will be very much faster than an ice road. Whether 12 mph is actually achievable...
During the project the snow road may harden (or be hardened by application of water) that can influence season length and enable more conventional trucks and equipment to be used.

just had a look at the COP Harpoon/ Willow plans and they state demobilisation from 15/04 and End (which I assume is off ice) by 30April. With mobilisation of Rig 142 planned 8/02.
Of course we will never know what they have achieved in their season had Covid not intervened, but plan was for four drills + potential tests ( all with exploration permits granted).
I am sure when initial plans were made and timings agreed Erik Opstad would have employed his operational experience, taken soundings from the drill team and also looked at plans from such as COP.

As for drilling season it is very much climate dependent and Ice roads and pads can extend the season.
Can't work off the official Tundra opening and close dates as explorers will operate under licence - before the official opening dates as PANR and AEA have.
The lower foothills has not even "opened" for the last couple of years but work has still gone on.
When "open" tundra areas have "closed "it is around the ~ first week of May.
So it may be that with a lighter more mobile rig and we may be able to remain on the ice longer although I accept that no chances will be taken of a rig or equipment getting stranded.
Sure we have done our planning.

But also remember Bob Rosenthal was technical guy at the old GBP too and it took him 3 drills before Alkaid proved successful (after a very long gestation) .
That is not a swipe at PANR /GBP just my view based on having watched our neighbours for six years.

12:13 As 80% of trades are ASX/Chi-X it is probably those markets driving price movement, last 3 days has seen end of day "LOW" trades in ASX.
That 15M LRGS trade last night possibly impacted also as published after last nights official close.
Very difficult to know exactly what is happening we at the bottom of the food chain and just get to see the results after all the deals have happened.
