Time for some positivity and reality....7 Aug 2023 16:28
What's with all this doom and gloom? We were the equivalent of 440p back in 2021 during the HNWI buy in and over 300p last year. Many of us took money off the table at around x30 in 2021 but left healthy stakes still in Sareum. We are much further down the line now. There’s no reason why we can’t be back at similar prices before going much higher on a takeover. We all know the potential here especially when you see the numerous billion pound takeovers in our sector for smaller companies. There's lots to be optimistic about. e.g. SRA737 licencing news could be inbound at anytime and so could an SDC1801/1802 update.
People on here really do seem to be ignoring the bigger picture. i.e. in the pharma sector alone there were 479 M&A deals announced in Q2 2023, worth a total value of $51 Billion (according to GlobalData's Deals Database). The $10.8 Billion acquisition of Prometheus Biosciences by Merck was the industry's largest disclosed deal.
In a nutshell, big pharma will pay big bucks for smaller companies with innovative new drugs in our space. There are plenty of excellent examples. Astellas buy out a couple of months ago of Iveric Bio for $5.9bn was preceded a few weeks before that by GSK's £1.6Billion takeover of Bellus. These and other billion pound deals for bio minnows are becoming the norm in our sector. This makes being a Sareum investor even more compelling. You only have peruse the JP Morgan research note regarding the high levels of R&D licencing deals in the pharma sector to see that Sareum shareholders could be in for a big pay day in due course. The deals are huge and include:
