We had a similar situation at AFC Bournemouth in the good old days (i used to have a ticket in those days).
Our saviour, a solicitor, asked for pledges of £10k upwards to see if he could rescue from the receiver.
I was in a darts and quiz team of Cherry fans - none of whom could risk £10k.
We asked him if we could nominate one of us and raise the 10K between us?
Only pledges, so nothing to pay if he could not rescue us.
We all pledged more than could afford thinking it was futile anyway.
He accepted us and, heaven forbid, he raised enough to agree a CVA, and when he became Chairman.
At that point he provided anyone who'd pledged £1k upwards shares in the community club ( 51% golden shares).
So I was a shareholder.

Groups of us could have raised blocks of £200k - though I knew nobody personally on this chatroom so I doubt I'd have participated. Who knows though - we'd have possibly formed local groups and created an escrow account for security?

If CF had suggested it, it would have been a goer. Especially if he was able to say the alternative was he'd take 5.5p per share from anyone who'd pay it, subject to them looking after the workforce. Does that include the ones who were laid off by him?

I have never commented on high finance because my knowledge is nowhere near good enough.
When I opened my limited company I wanted to buy my car from me with a company bank loan.
Bank said as a new company I had no security for a loan, but agreed to lend it to me on a personal basis and allow the company to pay it off! So I thought I had achieved exactly what I wanted.

Years later, I traded that car for another and part exchanged it.
At year end my accountant said the part exchange value was owed to me by my company.
Something to do with lease hire I think?
I'll never understand it but that amount was exempt from corporation tax.
I did not want to understand it so if the tax man questioned it, I could refer them to my accountant.
That attitude has prevailed I think?

So, with that background, I think we had 2.5BN agreed with JPM (the ship) subject to 500m bonds being successfully floated.
The timing was dreadful and when that issue failed we arrived where we are.

500M divided by 85000 is less than 6k ..... faced with huge losses there must be many of us who'd have happily found that 6k even if it meant selling a few shares in Sirius? There was a return on the bonds far in excess of ISA rates of 1.4% or less, so cashing ISAs may have been sense to?

So is there a good reason why this approach was not considered?
In practice they sold some bonds as planned so the residue would have been a lot lower than 6k per head?

It was looking quick G8 untilanother grandiose gesture shot us in the foot!
NY moors planning couldnot afford to have a study done - so big man stumped up the money for it - and the roller coaster came completely off the rails when Boulby and Amec between them cast doubts on whether we could sell any polyhalite to anyone!

Amec also predicted scandalous numbers of lorries cluttering up the area.
I have h8ed Amec forever but they were probably right to think we'd be using the roads because that would have been within our means.
Planning would have been withheld and we'd have lost less money and hair!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but those placings at stupidly low prices dragged the price down.
From 32p to 3.2p CF should have been on Morecambe and Wise instead of Andre Previn.

After all the razzamatazz he then came out and said we should have sought financial advice instead of believing he was wearing a Saville row suit - two faced as it gets!

I hope people I have convinced over the years did not take me seriously - I thought this was project was nailed on.

Looking at volumes there was 12M shares dumped in Feb 2018 - after the Ministry requested TLOU and Sekaname to resubmit their revised RFP bids.

That departure from the "coal model of RFP" cost us so much in time , money and shareholder confidence.

Just had a thought - there must be just 2 pis buying and selling 100k every time.
One of them buys and the other one sells , and then they change roles without knowing.
The nett result is they break even and their brokers profit from both - the way of the world.
Neither party would need to be a major holder, I reckon it could be any two of us here if we were so inclined (Whizzer like inclines :O) ).

Imagine the savings BTS - a general placing must cost a lot of time & money to inform/handle a multitude of brokers and pis.
Add the angst from these message boards whatever they are priced at versus dealing with a few professionals and it is easy to understand.

TG's mates could well have had their shares issued on ASX as they are Ozzies, and the Pension fund similarly from the Botswanan exchange? The seller(s) are thru the FTSE.

As someone said 100k at £5k is peanuts for many pi's to trade either way. Maybe 100k is a nice number to shift, and those trades are fulfilled on the day rather than being carried forward to another day? Imo they are likely to be spread across several investors some of whom have a large number, and are repeat offenders in my book :O)

I guess many are contra deals for short term profit, build 100k piece meal at low prices and then sell all 100k - something I should have done myself over and over again tbh but I lost the will to do very much for a few years and the reason to have a nest-egg for the missus after I've gone..

Well done Whizz, your seller bought back 3 x 100k and another 30k buy this am. 4 buys out of 4 trades.
You have raised his confidence in TLOU, or he has sold UOG perhaps on the strength of your convictions.

The good thing is you cannot turn that around and put it down to me - because that would be a compliment :O)

As for well run I have looked at UOG and the chart reveals it is very well run - Winter Olypics standard , I'd say.
A lift from 4.5p to 6.125pover a month or so, and the Cresta Run down to 3.35p over the next two years.
They are chasing Rockhopper, (a white elephant that pre-dates SXX), which did a ski-jump from 80p to 27p 5 years ago and has slowly slalomed down to 15p since. You seem to like ski-ing? Good luck on the slippery slopes chum.

Dinna worry Whizzer, you'll have opportunities galore elsewhere once you sell and leave us all in peace.
There is nothing special about these few months so if there a host of opportunities now, there will be more to come.
99% of them will lose your money for you long term whether you buy now or next month.

Of course, if you get your money back, you won't be selling .... you'll be see this for what it really is, so we're saddled with your whinging unless we sell up before you :O)

TG's has been questioned elsewhere depending on the gas flows, which is fair given the stance taken on them by TLOU.

I have watched all 75 episodes of Outlander , 4 series, on Amazon Prime.
Thought they had a lot to tidy up in series 4 episode 13 and they didn't ! Cannot believe it, there is series 5 starting next month and it sounds odds-on series 6 is more than possible. It has become a full-time job - 'twould have been quicker catching up on Game of Thrones series 4 onwards???? Did not have the time to spare .... I haven't seen the news for a fortnight or much else terrestrial stuff.

That 9.1 buy was probably fulfilled because someone offered a higher price, picked up the available 3, and the next available shares were 9.9c - too much!

Subsequently trades went through at 9.2c and 9.3c which may well have been buys, offered and snatched up in full, leaving that 9.9c on the table with then indicates they were sells? The method is flawed but protects punters from costly errors e.g. entering 9.3 dollars thinking it is cents like I did once or twice. TLOU volumes could be easily tracked by recording when a number of shares are offered or requested and when the other half takes the the deal - it would be obvious? But on a busy stock, maybe us after flow rates are announced, perhaps the errors balance out in time so the trend is more obvious.

Hard to believe but there is only one trade on ASX @ 9.1c , a buy , total buys = 3 shares.
Good to see someone is building up their holding :O)

Tucked in at the bottom is reference to $0.13 per Kw - so far I have seen 12c, 13c and I think 18c unless that was my wild guess at the compromise using the range 10c - 30c (Aussie price - Bots diesel price).

The whole document is worth another look - nicely presented - but PAGE 15 provides some familiar numbers and must be the foundation for your calculations.
I wondered where that 41 came from - and was totally lost from the start.

Might try and fathom what you were getting at later, it is a bit early for me yet.
But page 15 shows us what is available and what is required so maybe I won't.
