At close my IG account is in proit on TOU/TLOU but the closing price leaves me out of pocket on SXX by a bit.
My other account , UK shares only, needs commercial gas flow confirmation like yours or good news from SXX.
I am more concerned about SXX tbh - I am fairly relaxed about TOU which , imo, is on course as a result of frugal , proven and pragmatic management.
Fears that they are watering down the truth whilst dewatering the wells to influence a share price at current levels make no sense to me! If they really feared commercial rates are unachievable at #3 and #4, they'd have added #5 as a production well for sure.

ASX has topped 10c tonight.
My sorrowful IG account , or whatever donk called it , is now in profit overall, TOU and TLOU have even wiped out my losses on SXX at present.
We had a guy in the dealing room at BP whom the successful traders always consulted. They took the opposite action because he was reliably wrong. I won't name him, I'll call him Donk's Dad.

Why would any sane person write Donk's post just when the share looked to be on the up?

Thanks NE , any irregular actions from my favoured sites leave me wondering if they have singled me out given the program I am writing. I have wasted a day on ADVFN trying to find why I am missing my latest post if I View Posts on myself. Today I realised ADVFN do it if I use their site so I am none the wiser but it is not my program messing up.
I have tried it on other users and cannot replicate it. I have put it down to a cookie or something that ADVFN set up for the person who is logged in.

I'd be obliged if one of you uses 'view post' on your username and see if your latest post appears. Assuming you have an ADVFN user set up of course.

We are singing from the same books of 'hims' - Ron and Tony were at Arrow, at different times I think , but their offices in Oz are close, so they'll surely be well acquainted.

If you recall my determining the ASX price - my one trade of £60 determined the closing price though it was not too relevant during trading.
That was why the 8.5c fly by night irritated me so much. The price I paid raised the sp for a millisecond , but once the deal completed it became irrelevant until close. That 8.5c came straight back into play. I think it is a very poor policy!
My paid price should have become the low end of the spread until another actual trade was made? then that 8.5c would have looked stupidly low - except somebody sold at 8.5c to compound my irritability :O)

this is typical - a £7 loss on a rising market, but a gain in sp of 0.024p
Most brokers value the sp at the price paid/received of the last trade I think?
Hard buys or sells take precedence over notional bid and offer prices.

BTS, sorry, got distracted. If you look at the trades you'll often see 2 BUYS for exactly the same number of shares.
The oldest will be the sell from the nominee a/c , the latter the buy back into the ISA.

You are also right BTS - the Bed and Isa are being done within a fewv minutes but many (me included) will sell nominee shares, move the proceeds to their ISA, and buy into the ISA so the prices are under their control. On volatile shares a profit rather than a loss becomes possible.

Do the Aussies have ISA's? If not the ASX price could be out of step later.

Thinking about it I cannot buy ASX shares in a UK ISA so I won't be opening an IG ISA . And X-O don't do foreign exchanges, hence IG in the first place.

The rising price reflects several bed and isa deals to protect any gains from the Chancellor?
It does not really matter if the price is 4p 5p or 6p if you're doing a bed and isa - the differentials are not going to vary much within a couple of minutes. Up or down , loss or profit , isn't going to be a fortune for the numbers involved.

TBH, I ruled out bed and isa when lager posted because I'd expect them in April or May BUT Colm and co provided the catalyst or incentive of course! My losses on HMV, USOP, AVN and SXX makes CGT look a remote possibility from my ASX holding in IG.
I have funded my X-O ISA this year so I don't have an IG ISA yet.

The SAAP price will influence the Botswanan idea of a fair price.
I suppose Botswana could buy from us and sell into the SAAP grid for a higher price if they wanted to?
But let's get those infernal gas flows done and dusted before worrying about the future.

The prices and costs comparisons between Australia and Botswana show they are poles apart, despite them being in the same hemisphere :O)

My memory is shocking, but one of the videos had TG spelling them out!

Botswana were currently (whenever that was) paying $30 a unit whilst Aussies only paid $10-$12 per unit.
The potential for a mutually acceptable price is clear - a whole raft of them to discuss. I think $18 has been mentioned and may even have been agreed in the PPA papers?

BUT he said the cost of production and transmission in Botswana with no rivers, huge urban areas and a third item (was it roads?) to negototiate in light sandy terrain (to install pipelines) was much less than in Oz. A win win.

I'm not sure if supplying gas to Orapa (designed to run on (non-existent) gas or diesel) is still in the 'pipeline' but if the price is right I guess it will still be on the table?

Funding from within Botswana makes sense imo.
Security being the major factor.
If , heaven forebid , TLOU were to come unstuck after taking on the finance, Botswana could inherit the assets and finish the task themselves. A foreign bank would find that more difficult , especially if Botswana wanted to be awkward about it.

If BDC see it that way , and I get the impression they are quite obliging with their handouts , then Colm's upbeat forecast last week will be on the money.
TLOU and Botswana , remember the pension fund , look likely to have a superb future together imho.

I have so much respect for our CEO.
Those two videos are very consistent with my understanding which was gleaned from later announcements.
The reason for being in Botswana, that TG sold 2 companies for billions, and then the year 2005 watershed for CBM all undermined arguments to the contrary, and confirmed my thoughts were not fantasies!
However, what was more interesting, for me, was the statement that expanding production after the first production stage was so much easier and quicker.
They were thinking in terms of delivering bottled gas at that stage , the same as Kalahari Energy , but it seems reasonable that the benefits will apply to extra electricity generation too.

When I got involved in TLOU I was very aware of Vox and Justin Waites - only tonight did Chukkers link make it obvious that Proactive were producing videos that early. Thanks again , Chukkers.

The optimism shown was way off the mark so I understand BTS better now.
BUT one the two videos it is clear that the estimates were based on the history of coal fired generation which was established.

Always thought the bids were raised from a previous tender document badly edited for CBM! IMO, the original would have been for coal , where the requirement for previous supplying the Govt was feasible.

Nobody had ever produced CBM in Botswana , hence the bidders were hamstrung on that paragraph. I guess it shows good Govt that the original was quashed and reworded to the new version. Some countries might have ignored it and created problems later.

So now we know why TLOU chose Botswana over Oz for venture no 3. Sounds compelling to me.

Selemo was later than 2016 but not by so much given the lost time on the tendering process.

In case Donk , who tried to belittle what I said about Tony searching the world for this venture (because I have never met Tony?) , does not realise what your link references - IT CONFIRMS THAT.

My memory is going in certain respects e,g. my favourite Bournemouth is Ryan Fraser and the other day I could not remember his surname , believing he was called Fraser somebody. But the important things are locked in even if the source isn't. I also meet many folk and dogs whilst out with Poppy. Years ago I''d remember the faces, name, and dog name but nowadays I am not certain of any of them.

That email address has long gone but they have a feature to change email adress. I used it and the prats insist I provide the code that they sent tothe old address. I entered my current email address too many times so after all the twaddle they sent me over 6 months, they now stop me accessing them. My password for them was well chosen!
