Phew! Just had a power cut for about half an hour!
By the skin of my teeth I managed to fund my ISA, complete a trade and get confirmation it was filled before the power went.
Another one on ASX will retrieve my frequent trader status fom March 1st - I'm expecting a recovery there on Sunday night.

How efficacious was TG's lock down? Keeping us up and running for £146k sounds blooming amazing to me!
I reckon we are in good hands - as if I ever doubted it!

You clearly have no TOU shares Donk or you'd be more interested in ASX.
When news breaks the share price will reflect it on ASX before LSE for reasons that are obvious to some of us.
The fact that there are no trades on ASX is important - it means shareholders are holding on to their lttle gems.
If only LSE shareholders were as bright!

LSE use the midpoint of the spread at close.
Both have an auction at start and end of normal trading so if the is an Uncrossing Trade to clear out unmatched trades they are significant. Most days there are no UTs though of late. Once there is news and it gets busier they'll reappear.

The volumes are small and the buys were Xmas come early for some lucky people!
I cannot help wondering if someone has confused their currencies and traded on ASX using GBP prices instead of AUD? To see trades going through at 6c and to then accept offer offers of 4.5c looks inexplicable. If the volumes were high it might suggest panic selling based on gut feeling or fact, but this looks like too many Fosters to me!

Of course we are closer than in 2018!
Lefoko has visited the site and pledged his support, covid sees an end in sight instead of being a year from the horizon, permissions are virtually in the bag, we are funded until the end of 2021. In addition we have a list of contractors tendering for the poles and wires once lockdown eases and funding is more likely now than before.

The plan was to convert from diesel to gas once there is a gas pipeline in place.

Having spent years acquiring the land rights and route for the poles and wires, I cannot see TLOU being in a hurry to start the same process for a gas pipeline somehow, especially if it holds up the current plans and upsets the budget plans.

There is always a chance that Orapa connections will help finance a gas supply line of course. TG might welcome parallel projects (Mamba to Orapa, Lesedi to Serowe) as a joint venture on the former, whilst retaining the original TLOU project. I wonder how long Orapa would be closed down to do the convertion? It is starting to remind me of Sirius - potash on lorries to Redcar replaced with state of the art tunnel and conveyor belt to our own harbour and fleet of ships .....

Hi Thornback , Orapa is possibly in the same league as solar - phase 3 perhaps?
We need to prove that we can shift power via Serowe so poles/wires is phase 1 and phase 2 is getting the gas flowing and generating power whether up to 2Mw or 10Mw, phase 3 , once there is excessive gas flow could involve a gas pipeline to Orapa if their generators are still able to function with CBM (unproven I reckon?), or solar, but definitely more wells at Lesedi or maybe Mamba or both. Boomslang is rarely spoken about so that may be one for the future.

Had to write something because I just checked a mousetrap in the loft with little hope because I have heard scratching recently! It had sprung , some of the bait was gone (peanut butter) , but no mouse! Something fell out when I opened the trap, to renew the bait, it was a head! IMO, that is an industry in itself - billions could be spent on researching how to store millions of watts of energy! It is the reason that Solar is not the force it could be! If Botswana had an abundance of water and mountains , they'd use solar by day to pump water to high ground and then used hydro-power at night. The only water in Botswana is in Lesedi #3 and #4 !

So batteries look to be the answer - and there is catch-22 - without back-up a source of energy at night is needed - hence coal still survives!
CBM is the answer to the coal dilemma - I have known this since I first heard the word TLOU - TG has known it for much longer. People on these boards are slowly realising it too or I'd be shot down and ridiculed as I have been for years! 2021 is going to be exciting, I just hope Botswana and Australia are treated as a priority for our vaccines, as Commonwealth countries ought to be!

My1, I believe Donk is on a strange wavelength regarding the negotiations.

I am convinced the negotiations do not involve re-apportioning 100Mw between Sekaname and Tlou but I believe Donk does!

93Mw and 10Mw are still totally intact and are the nominal 100Mw imho.

The negotiations are, imo, towards the funding and repayment levels, their sourcing and timings.

I have not seen one word that suggests the 93Mw and 10Mw targets have changed, and there is only room to swing towards the centre (50% each) which would probably see the end of Sekaname's involvement.

Everything looks consistent to me , the demand for CBM and Solar have been there forever!
I still don't think TG will jeopardise our budgets by introducing Solar early. If we concentrate on Solar first, it seems so obvious that Tlou would look for land closer to Serowe to join the grid!
Lesedi is the end of the rainbow because CBM cannot be moved closer.
Solar on land we already have is logical , but it requires the poles and wires ..... sharing the ones that are essential for CBM power transmission. They are the priority! They open the doors to CBM and Solar and wind if we decide to go there! Only one of them is locked to the Karoo basin - CBM is the mission and I am expecting the gas to flow in the time it takes to erect the poles and wires! TG has his finances built around CBM .... he knows what he is doing, all imho of course.

Don't worry about me Donk, I'm not living hand to mouth and if I lose all my investments my life won't change.

The bookbuilding is presumably by the intitution(s) who have invested £850M in HL, presumably on top of an existing book(s)?

Expect TG to follow their progress and learn from it. No doubt there will be some hiccoughs along their way.

Given their name, they expect to be knocked down , but they'll get up again!

Mr C, it was not a placing at all. Peter Hargreaves decided to spread his wealth over a year ago and sold £550M worth of his own personal stock. That dragged the price down several pounds and when it recovered to around £17 he decided to dump another load, £300M worth! He collected £2M of dividends (11.9p each on 20M shares) in so doing! From memory he said he wanted to shed half his 50% holding in HL. but he has dumped 30% now surpassing the published 25%!
Will he let the price rebound and do it again in October when the dividend is likely to be 3 or 4 times 11.9p?? It looks likely if he can get £15+ from the institutions. That is not a foregone conclusion if they smell a rat!

I dismissed solar as the priority Whizzer!
For a while the consensus seemed to going that way - brought about by green energy talk from talks about renewable energy (which excludes CBM) I think!

Since then CBM has been mentioned a lot more and is now fairly clearly the priority, for both Tlou and Botswana.
Once our future is established with CBM I cannot see why separate finance could not be arranged because Solar could be contracted out imho! It does not need an oil and gas expert to oversee the work for certain. And I still think that if Solar is a solution then it would have been adopted years ago. There is something that holds it back apart from it being part-time. CBM does not need backup it is a complete solution! And that was my point at the time MM forwarded the pro-solar evidence. Solar has it's place - during daylight!
