RE: Gas Composition20 Mar 2021 09:23
A good judgement at last :O)
Selemo has been producing electricity for years so the composition of the methane was a red herring from the start.
For new investors who are unfamilar with Selemo , here are a couple of links.
http://www.scandoil.com/moxie-bm2/news/tlou-energy-starts-gas-production-testing-at-selem.shtml
and this one is the key to why TLOU were wrong-footed on time scales imho.

Had Lesedi dewatered remotely as fast as Selemo we'd be producing electricity from Lesedi main several years ago!
Funding would have been a doddle imho.
This is what TG is being blamed for , and it is simply unfair. Initial dewatering is kown to be dodgy at new sites, full stop!
It was reasonable to expect two sites as close as Selemo and Lesedi main would be similar.
I can hear some of you asking why we did not stick with Selemo instead of moving to to Lesedi main?
My answer , and this is only mo, TLOU have never stated this afaik, is that Selemo and Lesedi main are on different plots e.g. PL002/2004, and operate under different licences.
As Donk says, TLOU bought their plots from Kalahari Energy and KE put a royalty on Selemo of 12% or 3% of income from gas or electricity! The royalty does not include the plot Lesedi main is in!
Another clue as the frugality of TG imho. Mamba and Boomslang are also royalty free afaik.
Donk's many "pitfalls" included whether vertical or lateral wells were best? He tried to insist lateral wells (huge contact areas with the coal to collect gas) were so expensive it may be better to stich with vertical wells.
A bit like playing darts! Throw a dart (vertical well) and receive a score of 0 to 60 depending where it lands, then throw another? Tlou struck lucky, or more likely were very skilled, with their vertical well at Selemo and were unlucky with their lateral well when the drill snapped and had to be aborted!
They had to modify Selemo's generator to run on less gas than it was designed for, but from memory, that was done very quickly. The same may apply for 2Mw but we've been there , done that, no problems for TG.
You will TG was absent due to illness so GG was running things for a few months. TG seems to have fully recovered except some posters on here make TG and me sick.
