Just had a bit of a shock, IG texted they are waiving their custody charges for first quarter of next financial year.
Doing my bid and isa, and then the price collapse has left me below the threshhold for Custody charge exemption.

I think they have made a mistake because 3 trades in a quarter bring exemption as I'm doing 3 a month to keep frequent trader rates.

I sent this in case you are in a similar position with your broker. Brokers do not warn you of this in their Bed and Isa pros and cons perhaps?

My losses are more than I thought! I look at the summary not realising one of them includes a ficticious profit for my UK warrants @ 3.1p with should be a zero position until I explicitly take or deny them.

Last week they advised me that my options had been added to my account (Australia did this at the time I requested them).
Australia value them at zero - correct - I haven't paid my 8c yet!
UK has them valued at 3.1p - and likewise , I haven't paid 4.4p for them - so all tjose 3.1p's appear as profit!!!!!!

I can feel your pain, I have gone from £6k up to about the same amount down because of the latest placement , which like the scalpel was a necessary evil. Or was it? TG responded to demands from shareholders with your view - get the funding done irrespective of cost and do something! That pre-empted the delay for due diligence from our new backer , patience was needed, and still is!

Instead of being happy with 14% dilution and no debt , what do those same pesky shareholders do? They drag the price down to the placement price and now , lower! You should be careful what you wish for!

Those idiots who prophesised the price would drop to 3.5p are the culprits, imho!
That is normally true on a full placement as the whole gammut of shares are open to selling for a profit by us all. We then take the offer at the lower price.
BUT THIS DID NOT APPLY HERE! Stephen Hemsley and mysterious others were given the deal of the month. They were rewarded for finding the money overnight to appease the rest of us! The dilution of 14% those 75M shares produced could reduce the price from 4.9p by 0.7p (1/7th) so profit taking down to 4.2p was justifyable. But 3.5p and now 3.2p is sheer lunacy!

We are our own worst enemies , wanting a pound of flesh! Shylock was needed to stop you sellers in your tracks.

I am sure TG is kept up to date on the mood of notice boards, and may even reads them himself sometimes.
In the early days I once observed that Tlou notices kept referring to CBM or gas power and a good number of posters were under the impression we were still going to deliver gas rather than electricity after the "switch" had been planned.
Soon after Tlou referred to gas or CBM powered electricity and continue to do so.

Ironically we have plans to do both now - I like to think that Tlou are responsible for the timing of the potential switch from diesel to CBM at Orapa. Do BPC know that CBM is nearer commercial production better that us? Or is the competition more advanced than we are lead to believe.

Your example of recent events could well be accurate! TG has been reticent to take finance at punitive interest rates, and he has circumvented doing so with his placement. The compromise could well have been to appease chat room posters.

As well as getting the ball moving, he may have de-risked phase2 funding a little so the interest rate comes down a bit.
It buys a few months of dewatering and a chance of increased gas flows to reduce rates even more.

We may be twiddling our thumbs still MyF, twiddling while TG sets the world alight, not just Rome! I doubt he has rested.

It is a total fallacy to say they are drawing a nice salary. Dropping 25% and 50% of their intended salary is such an incentive to get back to full salary. They'd obviously do it asap if there was no risk to their health, or the population of Botswana and Australia and anywhere on route , South Africa being one.

I'm sorry, but I do not accept that the directors would be happy if everybody felt as I do!
These are successful business men , they have pride the same as us! Theyare doing all they can for us, the shareholders , and if we are OK then so will they be of course. If we go bust , their futures will be tainted too.

If a few more voiced their appreciation of our board, or critics toned it down a bit , I wouldn't need to.

The board are fully aware of the discontent amongst shareholders - Colm and Tony usually refer to it in podcasts.

My problem is that I was brought up with honesty as my religion, so I hate liars and lies.
When I see something that is deliberately being misleading or , on more likely here , stupid or fraudulent , I cannot turn the the other cheek.

I haven't stopped posting here (as I have 99% on ADVFN) because I have continually invited those who wish I didn't exist to filter me. If they don't then why complain to me? They prefer to add to my supposed clutter with totally worthless messages which rarely, if ever , give any information that they have the cheek to demand from me!

I quit responses on ADVFN because I suspected that I was becoming Donk's puppet! He'd know what I was going to reply with (for the benefit of the silent majority) if he prompted me, and we know what his agenda is now, greed.

Mfm , or is that MFM? , I suspect you are absolutely right. Many senior BCP officials have left office and the organisation has lost millions. Took all the brown bags with them most likely. I was hoping BPC would be replaced somehow. They aren't in the good books of their customers, potential power sources or the Govt - but maybe they are too big to dump easily?
