Another coincidence? I highlighted the Selemo map from 2016 yesterday showing a pipeline to the SW of Lesedi and a planned 300Mw plant plus Orapa pipeline. I have little doubt TLOU saw that, knew there are shareholders who misunderstand everything that is possible , or impossible in some cases, and have now clarified the current position for us.

The latest plans are so much better one pipeline and a tx line to Orapa and Serowe!
Saving the pipeline SW, the road to Serowe if that was a lorry, the lorries themselves and drivers, a second power station and associated substations, bottling plants, bottles, the list grows forever! That is what the TLOU board AND the Govt have achieved over the last 5 years or less. At least that is what I see , plus the substations and tx line are now assigned to our sub-contractors! I think things are pretty good. Finance and dewatering resumption look to be possible one ofthese days to make 2021 a red letter year.

That produces a price of 24.3c per KWh which computes very well!
With diesel up to 30c per KWh our minimum price of 13c looks to be highly negotiable.

Optipower look well suited to putting up the transmission lines, if there web site is anything to go by. I wonder if Zismo have the edge on getting started because they are based in Botswana and maybe have more freedom within a lockdown.

I am disappointed at the price paid for those imports i.e. 1101GWh for $75m.
I was expecting something like 30c per KWh which would give us plenty of room to negotiate on price but the numbers do not compute!
I make it 6.8c per KWh , so half our price and a quarter of the cost of diesel power?

How much is available at that price is another question , Eskom probably produced the above and I doubt they are in position to supply any at all until they sort out their current mess.

Whizzer, I did not expect 2MW to be arriving in Serowe this year, but for there to be enough gas to power that size of generator. The map on the second link earlier shows a "gas plant" , is that where the Selemo generator is, and where the Lesedi generators will be? Is it ready to take more? And did Tlou expand the early Selemo generation as mentioned in the first link.
I expect it to be difficult to find online because I think I'd remember if it had been announced.

Selemo produced power by June 22nd 2016 once TLOU redirected the gas to a generator rather than a flare.

Whizzer, if TG had told us a while back that we'd be producing 100MW by today , would your posts be any different to what you are saying now, if he was only producing 50MW? I guess we'll know the truth if we produce 2MW this year of the 10MW we were originally targetting. MW is from a keyboard where the shift lock works for more than one character.

Anybody with an IPhone know how set shift-lock so it survives after character 1 ???

And that question told me exactly why Solar is unwanted in Southern Africa!
Tourism! Millions go there to see the wilds, animals and places! They go to escape seeing wind farms and solar energy fields!
To get the sun, solar panels cannot be hidden in trees and out of sight valleys - they need as much sun as they can get, and they'll be vast, difficult to protect from vandals and animals but a huge eyesore!

Coals to Newcastle comes to mind - surely any country we can export to will have the same sunshine as we do - which begs the question "why don't they produce their own?".

Apart from the nightfall and dark skies, there must be a huge problem with solar energy.
Most likely imho is that solar energy is only produceable when it is not needed, and when it is needed it isn't possible until battery technology is affordable/reliable/efficient and anything else that is holding it back.
Solar and hydro-electricity go together in my estimation, pump the water to high ground with solar energy, reap the benefits from hydro when it is needed! Lack of water and high ground together down South? Oop north hydro power prevails (according to that bloke in hospital) and where there is water there is clouds! So I think the lack of Solar might be partly explained there?

Solar and CBM however are great bedfellows - no batteries needed nor water nor high ground!

Good? 10Mw appears to be easy to source in terms of gas.
Bad? ~$0.13 per Kwh?
TG intimated prices in Botswana could be as much as $0.30 ($0.12 to $0.30 in Botswana compared to Oz's $0.10 to $ $0.12) , so they have presented the near minimum - maybe, to keep Whizzer quite in the future? I cannot remember if I actually saw/heard $0.18 or whether it came from my own head.
Whilst the contingent resource is classed as unlikely just look at the degree it can be out by
to produce 300Mw - a third of the volume is more than enough for 300MW. And Boomslang has not been fully assessed yet? Has Mamba? I dunno.

Whizzer, TG is not saying this - this is all down to me - $300m @ $0.13 (which will rise with time, if not immediately within the current talks) before adding unknown solar revenue makes 3p per share look like the buy of century imho.
