My view of Tlou - to a Sirius poster for years27 Sep 2021 12:10
I tried to catch-up with a lady from the Sirius days, and thought this might be useful for newcomers here? All imho of course , but I believe it to be 100% true!
"My eggs are all in one basket, TLOU Energy, so the stock exchange is not much good for me either.
I am hopeful they will come good, their problems currently are whether to stick with their original aim CBM (Coal based Methane) powered electricity or change tack.
After CBM , Solar energy became trendy so that was added to the agenda.
Both needed distribution to the nearest grid at Serowe ,100 Km away.
They had a closed placing (a few UK investors) to pay for the poles and wires , issued contracts to two companies in Botswana , poles/wires for one, a local substation to another), but have not continued with the work. That has upset loads of shareholders and the SP halved to 2.5p!
They have been flaring gas for ages, but it is not flowing at commercial rates yet. New CBM sites are prone to water problems , and it can take months or years to get rid of enough water for the gas to flow. We did that at Selemo within a few months , and it has been generating the site's electricity for 5 years or more, saving the cost of 5k barrels of diesel p.a..
The main site , Lesedi , was expected to follow suit but it has been dewatered for 18 months and needs even longer.
An Aussie company, Synergen Met, produce Hydrogen and Carbon from electricity and water and they have formed a partnership with TLOU on a 50-50 basis.
They plan to use the gas we are flaring to build a prototype in Botswana at their cost.
Tlou will need to reproduce what they did at Selemo , install a small generator , and they'll share the rewards from there.
The prototype is being built in Australia , and it is hoped to deliver it to Botswana next year!
Entry into the Hydrogen business looks quicker and cheaper than CBM or Solar electricity to Serowe,
so I want Tlou to concentrate on Hydrogen first!
They always planned to start small, and use reinvested profits to expand to keep the share count to a minimum.
And add to that the Diamond Producer at Orapa wanting to upgrade it's diesel generators to use gas!
The generators are designed for either fuel source and it looks likely Tlou is their target to provide the gas via a pipeline!!!! Another site, Mamba , is closer to Orapa and all 4 projects look like money makers to me!
Our CEO has made a few billion in Australia from CBM electricity twice!
His third venture , Tlou , was deliberately chosen because red tape in Australia has become intolerable and the prices are low $12 per unit, whilst Botswana was $30per unit!
Covid policy in Australia and Botswana have held things up but whatever option is adopted first, I am hoping this will be a multi-bagger! We await a Power Purchase Agreement with the Govt, and then funding of $10m for 2Mw . or $30m for 10Mw , should follow.
