God there is no pleasing some on here. You think the company has much chance now without taking legal action? Sadly it has had to come to that in order for Slovenia to issue those damned permits (or pay damages for not following due process). Colin is taking the right steps now IMV.

The fact is if it wasn't for export pipeline to Croatia (achieved under Colin's leadership), the company would have folded years ago. Colin clearly wants the project to succeed. I'm as frustrated over the length of the permitting process. Let's not forget the subject of the application has not been questioned - the process itself was the subject of the internal year.

Don't really think it's Colin's fault that abusive emails were sent to ARSO - he's condemned them. Equally, it's not Colin's fault that Slovenia's permitting system has been so goddamn slow! Stop with the Colin bashing.

I find it difficult how a holder can effectively de-weight their portfolio by selling AST shares at the current low SP, particularly if their average is 0.80+. The only way I can imagine they would be able to do it would to buy additional units of other investments with additional capital and leave their AST shares untouched. I'm staring at a 80% paper loss at the moment on AST - I'm imagine others are looking at a similar figure if not worse. Can't see the point of selling now. IMHO.

Sounded like you were overexposed here and needed a more diversified portfolio? Having all your eggs in one basket is bound to be stressful and I've learned that the hard way myself. Adding more into other investments to rebalance things.

Andy1200 - I would raise it with your broker as they may be able to reprice the trade...clearly they didn't offer "best execution" for you as per FCA rules.

The problem with stop losses (be they actual or mental ones) is that they guarantee that you'll sell at a loss as they are always inevitably hit. That's not why I invest my money in a company - I want to make a return on my investment. I prefer to view my investment more holistically, looking at the fundamentals of the company and where I see the company progressing to in the future. Fair enough we can get it wrong and yes there may be times when you have to sell and realise the paper loss because the fundamentals have changed for the worse.

On AST, it's clear there's been an injustice on the permitting. I can't see with the amount of money that's been invested in the project that parties would be willing to give up and walk away at this stage. So I'm hopeful of a resolution in the near future to everyone's satisfaction with the asset value beginning to show in the mcap.

With the SP as low as it is now, I can't really see the point in selling personally so it's interesting to see that others may want to. I'm also not at liberty to buy more AST shares purely on the basis that I've already pumped enough into this over the last two years and need to keep a sensible and well diversified allocation of risk across my PF. The market is underperforming generally - not just AST - and it's as crucial as ever to keep your cool rather than sell at the bottom.

Doesn't really matter what others are doing right now (they will all be selling at a huge loss). Believe in your own vision for the company and where it's headed.

That’s out of date. Spread is now 0.35-0.40. Find it interesting that someone sold 3.5m shares and then someone bought 3.5m shares. It doesn’t look like a bed and ISA trade to me.

Another 1m buy - shares are being mopped up at this level.

One more prediction from me: I'm hopeful of a close above 0.4 today, but should get there tomorrow :) IMHO
