They don't release single holes any longer.

Last Porvenir results were in July and assays for holes 14-18 were pending. There will be another regional update due.

Similar applies to Tandayama. Instead of doing 1 or 2 holes every 3-4 weeks they now do 4-6 holes every 3 months.

I don't think there's anything wrong in saying that's where the company had ideas about going. Whether it got there or not was always a separate question.

Today's letter reads that BHP need to cut their games and pay up if they're interested or shut their mouths and let SOLG get on with the job.

Of course BHP are more likely to have a go but if their activism fails then they're options are reduced further. It's clear at this stage they have no intention of paying what we think should be paid, and we had that conversation not so long ago too if you remember.

IIs like Berry and even BlackRock are all pawns here just like we are, just slightly bigger versions. They'll win or lose in the same way that we will and they will be powerless to do anything about it.

Say, for argument's sake, thst BHP managed to plant a load of their associates on a revamped SOLG board in 2022 and they did a private placement with BHP at a 50% discount to the prevailing SP, what do you think IIs can do about it?

Nothing is the answer, as long as SOLG has the equity headroom and doesn't need to ask for more.

Said IIs would then play their part by selling down to salvage any profits or crystallise their losses, crashing the SP further in the meantime thus giving BHP their opportunity to swoop like white knights.

There is no way a new board would be good news for SOLG investors. None.

After everything that has happened, it isn't goimg to be a deal that BHP will ever make.

Addicknt - i don't want to get drawn into an argument on semantics but i think it's safe enough to say that there was little that could be done before Nick tendered his resignation. There was zero chance of any progress during December 2020, pre AGM because they were pre-occupied with everything going on and post because they were right into Christmas and the dust was settling and quite possibly heels being dug in and late moves being made.

Assuming that everything only started moving mid January we are c.10 months and by the sounds of things extremely advanced in the process. Yes, it hasn't been straightforward and yes, it has taken longer than you might have expected, but as you point out there might be a couple of reasons why a candidate might have reservations.

I suppose what i am trying tl say is that i don't think this is your standard CEO appointment process of 4-6 months start to finish. It is more complicated for various reasons.

Montecristo - given Nick retired as CEO officially on 31 March with notice being given to the market on 19 January, what do you think a realistic timeframe is to identify, screen and appoint his replacement?

Bear in mind that Solgold is a company domiciled in Aus, listed and with offices in London, with operations in South America. That can be a logistical nightmare for tasks far less significant than choosing the next leader of the business.

There's some things you just can't fully box off with a zoom call or two.

A comment was also made in MacDonald's interview that there's enough work to do to keep going for generations, but yeah we'll forget that point and demand a takeover because we've been here since 2012/2013/2014/ insert year.

I will stop short of telling people what to say or think, but i think that people need to support the company and not support the takeover.

There's a clear culture of the latter on this BB and all it has done is create a sourness towards the company, it's officers and certain major shareholders.

Like with many things in modern life, all sense of loyalty, patience and perspective goes fully out of the window.

These people almost expect SOLG to make them overnight gazillionaires, or at the very most that it was a 3-4 year job from the Alpala discovery hole. Completely unrealistic.

I'm actually starting to resent a takeover offer here now as quite a few will create wealth for themselves that they do not deserve.
