On the one hand I'm saying "why is BHP, in their financial health, getting so cute over their investment in this company... do they really want to lose a project of Cascabel's standing along with a pipeline of other opportunities" and at the same time I'm trying to suggest that they would appear to have a clear advantage should there be no movement before December.

One by one the old guard of the business, those responsible for generating significant value through discovery and expansion of our asset base, have been turfed from their employ and board positions, only to be replaced by a guy who spent almost 2/3 of his working life at BHP.

I can only guess what Copperpot is referring to. If it's equity funding related then I'm not sure what difference this will have, other than to dilute Mather's stake further?

Why, despite turning handsome free cash flow, are BHP not making us even a moderate offer, instead playing hold fast with their position and voting intentions despite not taking a hands on approach at board level at any point since acquiring Guyana Gold's stake?

The difference is Rich3r, you have been complaining for the last 5 years that nothing is happening quickly enough for you, unless the share price is going up that is.

For what it is worth i agree with you now. We've just seen 1/12 of the year pass without so much as a peep from the company. In a year when we need to achieve so much, that's not on. I'm talking about operationally by the way, not facilitating trading of the stock.

Looking back and looking forward, I think it's clear to see how far ALL have travelled, much of the journey during those days where the market only wanted to squash us to a sub £50m market cap.

But even for the rest of us, our trajectory looks so much more positive now. We have an industry leading asset that has room to grow substantially and a thriving market for our product.

Jrlomax - is it not possible that all notifiable shareholders maintained their positions or at least remained over their relevant threshold?

The company would have no motivation to not update the market of any notifications and the obligation to notify rests with each investor, so it's unfathomable that all significant investors haven't notified the company.

Also, I know news isn't little and often here but when we do receive it we do get a comprehensive enough update.

It's time to hunker down and hope the company can receive orders for reliable product. At least it isn't a case of Abingdon not being able to fulfil their side of the bargain.

More generally, and nor aimed at you Addicknt, this board just seems to be a raft of takeover speculation day after day, week after week.

Well where is it folks? There's no sniff of one bid let alone multiple.

I'm sure those pushing for a takeover will be right eventually given the collision course that is the December 2022 AGM, but by golly that's all we've talked about.

Resource estimates at Tandy and Porvenir have just sailed over investors heads as plenty are so consumed by a desire for a change of control.

Your theory seems to suggest that this copper boom is going to be a one year wonder or a two year flash in the pan. BHP know full well that the copper supply deficit is only going to grow as time passes and as we speak here today there is simply no substitute that is plentiful for the red metal.

If BHP had any serious intentions to strike then why didn't they start the bidding in the spring of 2020 when the share price had dropped to 10p amidst the wider market sell-off? That would have been perfectly opportunistic and they might have got the company for 35-45p/s even assuming a bit of competition.

Similarly they had all of last year after getting Mather potted. We were vulnerable with just an interim CEO and for part of the year at least, a lack of a credible board of directors.

But they didn't strike.

But you think they'll strike now so as "not to miss the boom"? Cannot agree. BHP hsve demonstrated at every turn ghey are willing to play the long game and the only thing that will stir them into action is someone else kicking things off.

Damers - there was that session but if memory recalls it was around the same time Keith attended a couple of conferences, and albeit virtual ones I believe. It was very much an opportunity for him to tell the market he wasn't just holding the baton for the next person.

SolGold media isn't a regular occurrence. It isn't something that accompanies big news like resource estimates or significant drill results.

My point is that SolGold aren't in the game any more of rolling out regular media. They used to use BR Media and they also did a few webinars on Red Cloud a couple of years ago but in the main activity has fallen right away. That's all I was trying to get at.

I believe that SolGold are truly in that limbo area where they're not a major or close to being one nor are they a small company that is so reliant on new investors for raising capital. This, funnily enough, was exactly the impression I got from Liam Twigger when he did his 60 second snapshot with the Aussie media late last year where he talked of having to raise interest with US investors. What have we seen of that?

I also don't believe there's an offer being negotiated, and I say that whilst not naive enough to believe this doesn't happen. My view is that SolGold are pottering along with the various assets and workstreams but ultimately poised for someone to make the first move. Yet nobody does.

In my book of outcomes the short price favourite is unfortunately BHP waiting it out until December, wielding their sword on the unwanted members of the board again, and continuing to grasp more influence, like an army moving forward, winning a battle and claiming the land. Only when they have enough land will they attempt to snatch the rest.

RCGL2 - that is the known known that people don't want to talk about as it doesn't fit the quick takeover rhetoric.

I really am at a loss at these comments about Darryl doing a "ProActive or similar". SOLG haven't dabbled in independent media releases for a good couple of years now aside from the conference setups where there's a few companies speaking. It's a drain on their time pandering to PIs and they get nothing but a sore ear from it.

Eish - a JV isn't to be assumed post a discovery. It happens a lot when the discovery is made by a fledgling junior but SOLG are no longer that.

The way I see it is that we'll see one or the other but not both (JV or change of control). If you were selling the company the last thing you'd do is sell off stakes in the projects and if you're selling off stakes in the projects then you won't be selling the company.

Besides, all this about multiple tier ones is guff at the moment. We have one (Alpala). Porvenir is very respectable as a standalone project but is no tier one and Rio Amarillo needs about 50 more holes of mineralisation before anyone can confirm, so there's a bit of forward looking forecasting in that claim I would say.
