Eish - whilst SOLG no longer publishes RNS' you can almost set your clock by i think to say they're opaque is a little harsh.

Labs around the world are experiencing delays right now. Resource companies are drilling more than ever and turnaround times just aren't what they once were. Won't say any more for obvious reasons.

The company publishes a thorough MD&A quarterly as well as the bi annual reports for UK investors. Do you read any of these documents?

I suspect your angst is because SOLG hasn't released any high impact news items. That is simply because they have nothing to say rather than anything sinister. If, for, example, they had agreed a JV on any project, they'd have to release that news, and quickly. In my opinion, the claim that we were seeking JVs on non-priority projects was always a ruse to tempt broader interest, and it failed. Let's be honest, if you're a major why are you going to join forces with SOLG on a project that wasn't deemed sufficiently promising during the first pass screening exercise? If you're a minnow, is it a strong enough addition to the investment case when they can go and get their own ground elsewhere?

I suppose what I'm saying is that if there was any merit then JVs would have been done, and done within 3-6 months of the announcement. It's gone as a prospect IMO.

BobMuckie - you're absolutely right when you say this isn't about us but desperately wrong in saying I need re-educating after making a few reasonable but incorrect assumptions.

I don't want or need any proof of your shareholding but lets be absolutely clear here. You have a position where you appear to have removed your initial capital (plus maybe some profit) and your remaining holding is up 750%, yet you still feel the need to vent about one man who you admit you value as a geologist? Moreso, said person has now been removed as CEO with an experienced replacement appointed and so surely the sky remains the limit once again?

I'm not being funny Bob, or antagonistic for that matter. I think you've done very well with this investment and atand to do outstandingly well if the company achieves the corporate interest some are forecasting. You could invest in another 100 pre-discovery resource stocks (bearing in mind you've been in from IPO) and not achieve the same results that you have here.

I can't dispute your concerns with the stock market but would simply state that commodity prices generally, particularly relative to other sectors like tech, have been subdued until the last 12-18 months. We are now entering the super-cycle if you believe that hope and that hype and more importantly the copper supply deficit is only going to accelerate over the coming years. Wider markets may teeter and may slide and surely a safe haven will be a company with millions of tonnes of the red metal and millions of ounces of gold?

Maybe Mather and Co are playing this perfectly after all?

Bob - the fact that you post at 2:56am UK time and refer to NM and DGR every post suggests you are a disgruntled aussie with an axe to wield against Nick Mather.

His record of selling companies for premiums is there for all to see.

As StockReady says, the price 5 years ago is pretty irrelevant. I can just counter it by saying in Feb 2016 the price was 2p and we are therefore 1300% higher, and had been 2300% higher at our highs.

What is relevant is the price you bought at, of course. Is it Nick Mather's fault if you bought at 50% higher than today's price? No it is not.

I know this will sound obvious but if Nick Mather is such a stain in the business world then don't buy his companies. Simple as. He has been very clear as to what DGR's strategy is. It's a project generator/incubator and once those projects hit a market the company becomes a long term investor. I suppose if SOLG gets sold, and DGR gets a tidy lift, then Nick Mather turns from villain to hero. It's a fickle old world.

As for SolGold's strategy, it is to develop the flagship asset at Alpala and the wider Cascabel concession and also to make new discoveries across the region. It's very straightforward. They clearly need to get back on track with the PFS, which we're being told is Q2, but aside from that, the only issue for investors is that the company doesn't appear to be in a rush to sell itself or it's assets. Strange.

BobMuckie - what is your agenda? Nick Mather has not been in position for 12 months now. This is no longer his ship.

What's your rationale for that?

One firm has done a fair deal on it's asset. One hasn't.
One firm is due to publish a PFS by April. One might publish one in June.
One firm is due to publish a DFS by year end. The other...well...

As you say you stand to win either way, but your prediction is arguable.

Chennowitz - can't really agree re POW. If I was interested in the POW spinouts I'd have bought POW.

I bought KAV for the KSZ and KCB. For Mike Moles and Hilary Gumbo. I'm not a huge fan of the way the two companies have become intertwined, most recently with Molopo Farms.

Addicknt - I don't disagree with the general train of thought.

Personally, as great as the ultimate goal of being a major miner sounds, I have to admit it was rather fanciful and overly bullish statement and I therefore am in favour of its removal. SolGold are right to call themselves explorers. Its what they do and have done well but I'm not sure it means the flagship asset is being sold.

My issue (or minor gripe) here is that people are taking these small changes in messaging, be that the intro statement or be it a comment in an interview and spinning them to suit their narrative.

It's about time these bowlers threw the odd googly in amongst the constant leg spin.

I'll be as pleased as everyone else if SOLG announces an event that creates meaningful value for shareholders, and moreover I've got to be honest by saying this isn't out of the question, but when all we're reading every day is X, Y or Z is leading to a sale or JV (and then when there's no X, Y or Z it's because "something freaking big is happening") then it gets a bit tedious. I've been reading this for years now and it can't just be grating on me?

OK, so the corporate statement has been tweaked. It has been tweaked mnay many many times before over the last 10 years. Does it ultimately impact the business day to day? Not IMO.

An RNS last year talked about the preservation of value rather than the creation of value. The should we all be worried?

If SolGold do a deal of some sort and it doesn't stand up then you can bet your last dollar I'll be here to remind you all of it.

So the logic we have this morning is that some sort of JV has been struck despite Darryl saying last week we were going to progress Alpala as if we were going to ultimately mine it.

Do people really think that Darryl would have pushed a batch of interviews out through investor media channels if the company were on the cusp of such a material announcement? Not a chance.

As for setting our clocks by Warren Irwin, a dangerous game. He's speculating like the rest of us.

Slug - correct me if I'm wrong but did we not see 43p in 2020 (Porvenir) and 32p in 2021 post each raise?

Many short term players will have taken that upside.
