Jezzoo - I just think they're trying to manage the company in a proactive way. They have a study that's ready to share and they want to prove they can be trusted by investors.

I'm calling out people chirping up unprovoked against Quady. This is a regular occurrence for readers of the board and it's nothing short of bullying. Comments that he gives as good as he gets are what some use to justify their behaviour.

My comment about CD is a one-off observation about what was a post without any basis whatsoever. However, it meets the populous view and therefore isn't likely to be questioned. He's entitled to his opinion of course, and I do agree with some of what he says generally and have in the past been a vocal supporter of his. It wasn't to goad him. It wasn't anything alike those who cannot wait to rub Qusdy's nose in developments that go against his production narrative.

Maybe so Addicknt but people getting all giddy that having a firm date for a PFS automatically means a sale (ref Colonel Drake's pre PFS bid ramp for example) is just tedious.

All those advocating a takeover aren't right until shareholders are notified of an acceptable offer. Not before.

We seem to still be a little way off that right now unless anyone knows something I don't.

As for Corbyn - he'd likely have failed for other reasons but at least I wouldn't have had the embarrassment of being completely pilloried by my own government, not to mention the double standards and hypocrisy the tories are basing their premiership on.

Everyone in the market let alone the big players would be able to spot it a mile off and overly-ambitious spot assumptions would, in my view, be a sure fire way to kill any potential deal.

What we need is robust economic results at lower prices. That will IMO bring multiple parties to the table and likely prompt the bidding war most want.

The base case should be at a lower price point with these figures as the best case.

Are all the folks who were thoroughly disgruntled at 25p happy to sell at this sort of level given much of the discussion back then that a 40-50p bid would be entertained?

Maybe we can all have the best of both worlds. Anyone who wants out can do so with an SP starting with a 4 and Quady and I can buckle up for the journey to production.

I suspect I know the answer...

The late Vincent Mascolo and his team have worked so hard in recent years and times did get tough. It's great to see the tree bearing fruit and the Ricca seeds planted next door.

LunchMoney - I take your point but still feel we have to zoom out a bit. Companies will have their own operational aims all the time but that doesn't mean that we as investors need to appraise them on every single one.

Things get in the way. Capital requirements, licencing processes, weather for roads, access and camp, locals and activists having their say, etc etc.

There's probably a middle ground between the high level I'm trying to look at things at and the more granular level that you are. For me it boils down to:

1. Cascabel as our flagship
2. Porvenir the next cab off the rank
3. A portfolio of opportunities behind

There will be hits and misses of course but provided the company makes an acceptable level of progress each year I think that's fine. Obviously everybody has their own view on what's acceptable.

I find it a bit of a fallacy to talk about over promising and underr-delivering by any member of management when you consider that a fledgling junior explorer has defined 10mt of copper, 23m ounces of gold and 90 odd million ounces of silver.

All in a yellow light jurisdiction that wasn't always open for mining.

This company, it's existing and previous management have delivered everything. There has been one exception of course; the double PFS slippage but I think plenty has been made of this because people are so consumed with what they consider to be the end game and have there got far too ensconced in what was ultimately noise.

We had the initial jump into the low 20s and then we had the forthright views from Bakuraku, Dhanteras and others about no production for years and a share price that wasn't sustainable blah blah blah.

Funny we've not heard more from them lately but I'm sure they'll be along to confirm they been long for the full journey and have made a mint etc.

ALL has always been one to just leave to deliver IMO. It's just a tragic shame that our leader was taken from us before he could enjoy the fruits of his labour.

It could be I'm over-thinking it and we see the order you suggest, PFS and then proposal.

But for me, BHP lose some of their edge when the PFS lands. The market knows with more certainty how we value Alpala. It can draw it's own conclusions about Tandayama and then add 2+2.

Absolutely Addicknt. I appreciate it's just what it said on the tin...a hypothesis, and therefore I also thought "tosh" was strong and the wrong choice of word.

It's not that I don't believe the company. In fact I took plenty of stick from fellow investors for believing the company earlier in the process when many were sceptical.

I would say that in November the company had a report that they knew they could tweak slightly for better results. They knew they could make those adjustments quite quickly and seamlessly (within a number of weeks) but they gave themselves 3-6 months as a buffer should it be needed. Don't forget that this was around the same timing as Twigger's public potshot at BHP, merely weeks apart.

I don't really know why BHP haven't bid and that's why I was offering the counter view. I would have expected them to step in by now if they were going to. The PFS sets the bar as you say yourself. Is this not the time for them to be opportunistic? Is this not the time when they would be less likely to face a competitor vs post PFS?

I think BHP can just sit and wait as long as they need to. They can maintain their stake during any capital raise whilst others are going to be diluted, which puts them in a position of strength where they to call an EGM or wait for the AGM where certain officers will be up for re-election.

I've not ruled out SolGold being an entity in 2023 and beyond which I know will be derided by others. If that transpires to not be the case I'll hold my hand up and admit I'm wrong.

Maybe it makes more sense for BHP to bid £3bn in 12 months assuming we find something at Rio as well rather than say £2bn now? I agree with you that SOLG have a bit more to say than were hearing and BHP could just be happy to wait us out?

You can't be expected to know how widely these boards are read and, IMO, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that sharing snippets from your contact may attract unwanted attention for you and them.

Take your line on the robustness of the ETA for the PFS for example. Were the company to announce a 3 month delay tomorrow (we know its not happening) do you think the share price would change?

Addicknt - I'm not sure I'd say they have deliberately delayed it but I'd be of the view they have strategically delayed it, particularly from release in December 2021.

It's clear the initial version wasn't fit for purpose and Keith arrived at the business just in time to pull it.

However, I'm less convinced that an initial report wasn't ready at the end of last year. What has been achieved in Q1 that gives the company the view now that we have a robust report (as confirmed by Darryl) and they're now confident about the timing of release (as confirmed by Fawzi). Assuming that Q1 has thrown up economic, operational and ESG improvements then that is some journey to have taken in 3 short months, don't you think?
