Well Bilbo, having only bought into RDS about a year ago at below £11, I can say that it is doing very nicely for me in terms of both capital gain and dividend. If ITM performs similarly I’ll be very pleased - and a bit surprised, because I don’t expect to receive divis here for some years.
There is no immediate green energy alternative for heating, industry, agriculture, 24x7 Electricity and bulk/mass transportation by road and sea that all of us depend upon, nor for the mining industry that digs up the minerals needed for EVs etc. So O&G cannot be switched off tomorrow - that’s not prevarication but a fact.
Whilst governments do have a part to play in stimulating change, productive and commercially successful partnerships between ITM and major energy users and suppliers are going to be essential for the long term. That's also the reality and, as we know, it's happening already.
