You have got to love Nige. I am guessing he was a 2nd hand car salesman before taking early retirement.....
The lie that he is essentially selling is that if you buy at 70p today you are guaranteed to get £1.50 at somepoint in the future. Obviously no time scale given but he is pretty much telling any would be investors that this is a half price sale and the asset will be possible to sell for double in the future.
Nice but as ever with Nige it is pure guesswork, fantasy and not backed up by facts. The potential bidder could drag ITV down to 40p or 50p and try to buy out for as low as 60-70p.
Please all new readers of this board exercise caution around any predictions given by Nigeco. He has already predicting a buyout here over 100x and none have come in the 5 years he has been repeating his lies.
"Undervalued"! Why not mention the "bid"? "Liberty"? "Britbox". You ITV bots need to up your game here. We have seen your comments 1000x before.
If this was undervalued then it would have bounced back in March or April. The reality is that with the current course last years profits are not likely to reoccur. The Dame is committed to spending more with less return per £1 spent. In effect she is lining the pockets of her studio chums. So the current share price reflects future earnings and dividends which with the current BOD will fall drastically.
Carolyn out! Maybe then this will be 15% yield and with a bright future.
Yes imagine a bid came down. They would straight away fire most of the BOD and put competent people in to manage and maximise profits. Buyout would cost a few billion and within 12 months the company could be back to 10 billion valuation
Solley I missed you. Your wonderful stories of family in America who work in media and predictions of a buyout here were spot on. We need more people with family in media to tell us how ITV will recover to £2. Only good news.
Asian markets and Europe are up 1-2% already. I am Expecting this share to gain today. Hopefully 2-3%. Some gains on Tuesday early on and then fall back to 70-71 by close of markets on Wednesday.
Of course do not take anything I say seriously. Despite being the most accurate commentator on this forum I am still an amateur and an idiot who gambles on stocks when I should know better.
On the train Euston to Lime Street. 3 days in Liverpool....Give me strength.
My motivation is not entirely altruistic. As much as I would like others to gain here, this is more motivated by an annoyance at the blatant manipulation by shorters and the big holders.
This board has big visibility. Everyone has known for years that this share is being kept low so that the big holders can gain on day trading while wiping off value from the small long term holders. The more we put information up the more we can hopefully put pressure on those few handful of traders with the big holdings to stop playing around here on a daily basis and maybe just maybe this can go back to pre covid levels of £1.50
Wishful thinking with a share this rigged in favour of the casino bankers.
AP, as I see it and please nobody follow my predictions as I am in no way qualified to speak. The share price on Monday will for the first 20-30 minutes bottom out. Between 8.30am and 9.00am there will be buying opportunities. I am looking to buy at 70.51. Then for the next 7 hours it will rise back up to close to 73.50. Sell in the early hours of Tuesday. Again between 8.30 to 9.00. Somewhere under a 3p or 4% gain for those who want to gamble on this rigged share to be had every 2 days.
As for the lottery winning numbers...... I do play occasionally but the best advice there is "It is a tax on stupidity"
For the followers only: Sold at 73.4 this morning. Small profit
Surprised that Trupcard could find the right school!
There are a fair few top 50 independent schools in South London. Who did he call? Dulwich? Kings? Whitgift?
During Covid when I was working the trading floors next to the Bank of England I was asked to verify my school. They came straight back and vouched for me being a decent fellow and from a good family that traces its roots back to the knights that came over with William the conqueror.
Anyway more importantly I am poised to sell ITV this morning. What is a good price chaps?
Very far from the truth couchman. I am advocating both buys and sales. Trying to demonstrate that we can all benefit from these endless swings one way and the other here. I am one of the few voices here advocating both actions.
Of course I have no financial accreditation, I am not endorsed by LSE and everyone needs to research their own investments
Wonder not. I am the most sincere, genuine and open poster on the board. I just wish good luck and success for all holders here.
Thank you Carolyn for the more than generous dividend.
Thank you Dame Carolyn. All your hard effort and excellent judgement have finally seen this investor rewarded. An average buy in of 70p only a few months back and a whopping dividend. Great to be one of the winners here.
Nige for the 100th time I have history with ITV. I worked for them in their offices at Grays Inn road. I care little for Carolyn and knew nothing of her before she moved to ITV.
MKS will regain their value. They are winning the battle for survival on the high street. Still the store to go to for food and underwear.
My losses are bigger than yours. My gains are far far bigger than yours. I tower over you in stature and as a fully paid up Mensch. Try to emulate me and be more like me.
The day trading is working for me. Just trying to share the love in between ITV posting results.
Nige, the problem as I see it, is because of your own propensity to deviate from the truth you now automatically expect others to behave in the same fashion. The rat smell is all of your own creation.
Share price was moving around 70.5 for a good hour or so. I took the plunge. It could end up going below 70. Who knows.
Don't let your bitterness become your overriding emotion to everyone here. Some of us just know not to sit on losses for 5 years.
I bought back this morning at 70.5 after watching it go down to 70p and then climb back up.
Realistically I need to sell these at 74p to 75p.
Oooooohhhhhh a takeover!!!!!!
How many times have Jed and similar ponderously, slow investors told us to hold for a takeover? What is their success rate with these 1000+ promises of a takeover.
I have more chance of being the next CEO of ITV than a takeover happening here.
To be fair Nige ITV are just returning back to the high 60s where they were middle of last week. This looks to be the pattern and range for now. 68-73.
Only an internal news story or major economic news will knock it out of this range.
Love island starts soon but maybe stupidly ITV have dropped "fast fashion" and opted to go more sustainable by having wardrobes from Ebay which are more sustainable. I always thought it was the greatest shop window ever. This seasons clothes paraded around on almost flawless models sat by the pool and dating. You saw whole flash fashion trends every summer sparked by what ITV were dressing the kids in on their show. Worth a fortune but Carolyn cares more about causes than money.....
So there is possibly further to fall today? Once Wall St opens we may get even more sell offs in media and reactions to Snapchat.
Day trading with ITV just gives so much. Swings of 5% every week.
Good 3% off today. Might still get my sub 70p buyback price this week. Good old ITV. It puts on 3% gains in a day only to wipe them off the next.
Oh dear! Something has set the old gits or goats off again. Bleating has recommenced.
I am always transparent. I have multiple buy ins at ITV. Hence multiple strategies. The bulk of my share I will sell just below £1. Then I have 200k in shares that I am currently day trading on the lower range. Made 9% on those last week. More than most of you will make all year with your slow but sure strategies.
As for my education. Certainly not state school. Nobody on my mothers side has been to one of those ever. I am Times Top 50 Independent. My peers include a privy council member and Air Vice Marshal. I am most definitely posh and well bred sarf London.
