Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
With a Eurozone debt crisis looming it makes sense to exit here. 6 months from now all the stocks across Europe could be significantly down. Italy, Greece and France have unsustainable levels of debt. They cannot hope to service their debts with ever increasing interest rates.
Potential that this falls back into the 50s as the coming financial crisis will put an end to governments spending. Everything is about to get very bumpy. Decade long recession in some Eurozone countries.
3% rise. On the good days you have to love this share! It gives and then it takes away.
Ant and Dec's proper job should be to run ITV. The two of them as CEO. Their presentations would be the best. Markets would take notice. Share price would quadruple. US streamers and global tv networks would be charmed into buying ITV content by the duo.
Carolyn out!!! Vote Ant and Dec.
Sunny is good for a wind up. Prison populations and people in their twilight years in old peoples homes who do not directly spend...... Hell I am all for outsourcing prison to ITV. Send inmates to the Love island. Love island meets Battle Royale.
Great deal then if it does generate that kind of profit. Lets just hope the Dame has the good sense to sell the shows to the big guys rather than try pushing it out on her failed digital platforms that nobody watches.
£85 million for a 79.5% stake. Comapny generates revenues of £10million a year. Makes content for Disney and other big providers.
Lets hope the Dame leaves the existing deals with big streamers going and airs some content on the main channel. Watching wildlife has to be better than Simon Cowell and Ant and Dec on a Saturday night
Jed please stop trying to police what is said on here. Everyone can express an opinion. I have some reservations about buying a natural history studio. I mean the BBC and Discovery and others cover that market well. There must be a reason why it was "independent". Have we paid over the odds for some small independent where the owners were only too happy to cash in and run in the face of Disney with National Geographic and Discovery pushing them out to the fringes?
Has the Dame issued a statement?
That news about the Naked Trader has made all the difference!!!! 2% up and climbing.
Got to agree with Contrarian though. He is nobody special. Just like you and me. A certain fool attaches huge significance to the NT. Has even emailed him. Very easy to dupe people into thinking you somehow can guess which way shares are going.
Looks to have hit resistance at 66p. Much as Contrarian predicted. This is the base for now? Small gains to be had from here?
This board is so much better now. We are getting varied opinions and evaluations and everyone is getting the courtesy and respect they deserve.
I have given up guessing what way things are going. Tending to side with Contrarian and thinking there is a lot of bad news to come down outside of ITV. Praying for the Goldfinger bid so I can finally ditch ITV for good.
Nice when the shouty and angry oldguard take a rest from here :)
3% lost in 5 days here on what was already a low price......
Surely next week has to be a week of gains?
Too late. Amazon have already bought up the Bond franchise. Somebody else will make a hugely successful Bond world and all the spinoffs. Most likely in the UK with UK talent whilst good old ITV churns out weak talent shows.
Imagine Disney allowed ITV to screen Mandalorian on a Saturday night instead of BGT in return for giving them access to ITV shows such as the Voice.
Imagine MGM came to ITV and asked them to make a Bond series or spinoff for TV and ITV got to screen it exclusively in the UK.
So much talent in the UK and ITV could be commissioned to make shows here for the big players in return for having exclusive rights here to screen them
Caz and Baz are too slow. Dinosaurs
Just re-read Contrarian's post. He talks sense. Quite often these downturns follow patterns. Quite often you get a rise heading into a major downturn. Up to the middle of July. Then when all the older investment guys take their holidays with families, the young guys left in the office over August have a loss of nerve. Panic selling ensues.
His advice to look to offload is going to be unpopular here but maybe just maybe in 6 months time this could be closer to 50p or 40p. June and July might be the 12 month highs.
I am talking as someone who has been burnt here many times.
You will not see me whingeing. My posts are removed but I recognise that I have to stay within the ToS.
Perhaps we can all play nicely and stop the insults and personal feuds?
I am not a troll. I post both negative and positive commentary. ITV is sound. I just recognise that the BoD are not worth the money we are paying them. New team at the top.
Contrarian, sadly the bid rumours bought me back here years ago. I switched my money from SKY to ITV after the SKY buyout. I was hoping for more of the same here..... I bought at over £2 here expecting an imminent buyout. 2017 was the year for Media takeovers. It all then went badly wrong as Crozier stepped down and Baz delayed on naming a new CEO and then went with Carolyn McCall. The share price crashed whilst Baz dithered, and then fell again when they went with the Dame.
Unlike the long term holders I learnt from getting burnt here.
So from October 2020 to March 2021 this share price shot up from below 70p to 1.30 in a matter of weeks. For a while I was worried as ITV were first out of the starting blocks with covid recovery and outperforming the oil shares I was in. The wider market and ITV investors clearly saw an improving economy and revenues coming back on stream.
How did the Caz and Baz duo, assisted by Helena's less able brother manage to squander all the gains and confidence here? How can ITV reverse this downturn and get back to where they were 12 months ago?
The ITV Share Price stood at £1.30.
Today it is 70p.
Nothing has drastically changed within the company. Still the same revenue.
So it makes me believe it is all a matter of confidence in the management.
Why has the CEO not been given the boot? How is it not her fault?
It promises to be a great group. Iran and USA in the same group as England and Wales and the Iranian's are right next to Qatar. They are inviting fans to stay in Iran before going to matches in Qatar.

England vs Iran and you could be at Kish island watching with Iranian locals. Visa requirements are being relaxed for UK nationals who normally need to be part of a group.
I will be supporting England but as ever my 2nd choice team will be France. France are likely winners. Mbappe to win golden boot.
Nige wishes he was me. I have been very open about my trades during Covid and beyond. Bought oil and gas at rock bottom and was mocked at the time by Nige. Have made 20% on my ITV shares since the crash. Every trade announced in advance here. I was in SKY for the buyout all those years ago and hope to be in here when the Goldfinger bid finally materialises.
I am an average to good investor. Better at my day job. Nige is unemployable and an abysmal investor who has lost his life savings in the last 5 years.
