Bhants.
Middle of Feb will probably be the declaration date, with the Ex-Dividend date being mid March.
If Natwest gives what they did last year, that's 10p a share, and then there's the Interim in July, and who know's they may do a Special again as well depending on the profits.
So, from one perspective the SP has dropped, from another you'd get a 5% rise in Feb....but I also appreciate that dropping from 280 down to 215 within a year is not exactly a good return either.
It may well be worth selling, trying your luck with CCL, or other travel in the immediate short term, and maybe buying back into Natwest early Feb.....maybe.......
The problem is that you need to decide.
I've been there done that, got the T-shirt, written the book, and read the Tea-Leaves.....
As I have stated 101 times, my "trading" is the worst.......I can make a thousand, but lose 30k because I missed the jump....
I'm ultra lucky that overall my pot just keeps going up and up.
Maybe sell some, not all, and buy something else that has a better chance of a bounce in the short term. I honestly feel for you. When you have a downward slope that just continues forever it s u c k s .......
I had 300k shares in IAG for a year, and it's basically gone nowhere.......
I've sold some a week or so ago, bought Mobico, and made 8% on what I bought.
Sit back, think, make an informed decision that you are happy with, and don't look back......that's all I can advise.
