Ged, lots of people are worried about not being able to afford to take up the rights issue on MEC. Can you shed any light on the situation. I'm sure I read that you can sell your rights, is this correct, would you do this through your broker?
I also came back out of this on Monday, didn't quite catch the high but made a small profit and again looking to come back in soon (funds permitting). I shall certainly be keeping an eye on comments from you both.
Cheers, that is a valid point, I never took into consideration such a drop after dividend pay out. Still got TEP on my watch list, take it there is a case of sell on news today with the sp now 11% down.
Interesting piece, pity shareholder value does not seem to be a priority. Fantastic for all the lucky people that bought in on the lows but for 18 months I have continually heard about 'organic growth' and they have spent all revenues generated. Let's see what happens when they resume trading.
I put this on my watchlist today when I seen your post in capital letters. I'm afraid I didn't buy in, but a nice little rise. I have seen your posts recently about dividends, I don't know if this fits your criteria as it is not set in stone but CPT with an sp of 19.5p is looking to give a special dividend within a 12 month period of 8p. Check out the rns and let me know your thoughts. http://www.londonstockexchange.com/LSECWS/IFSPages/MarketNewsPopup.aspx?id=2149257&source=RNS
With all due respect, what makes you think that if it is ENK behind Daintree and interested in bidding that they would do this on 23rd May. I fully understand your thoughts on the matter with regards to this being the first point that they could bid without having to pay the higher price but with this being the first date it does not nesessary mean that they would go for it then. We may be hanging on for a while yet. I would dearly love some positive news soon as I am a holder of both.
Well done, you must be my new lucky charm. I didn't expect this to have some momentum until next set of results, it would be great to see a rise like this sustained as this stock has been undervalued for too long.
yes, if my memory serves me right I did see somewhere that last years bid was about 160p, obviously very different times at the moment but when I read this report this morning I was thinking a similar figure, 40-50p. Nothing guaranteed but I'm sure I must be due a multi bagger. G.L.
have you seen this..... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/markets/marketreport/5320309/David-Shamoon-circles-Minerva-after-buying-stake.html
Certainly we have enjoyed a nice little rise on Hirco. I personally did not take advantage of the higher sp as I believe there is much more potential to be realised. The thing that concerns me is now that Laxey partners proposals have been rejected, are we likely to see them sell off their investments here? Are they likely to 'throw their rattle out the pram' so to speak.
When there is buying here then the sp can fairly shift. I would love to average down again before results in June, I just need to see how some other things go before I come in again. My average is about 0.13p so you are in at a really good price. I hope we do see some buying ahead of results.
I wish I had listened.... 0.85 to buy, huge spread, I'm too late but G.L.
I certainly agree with regards to TMC and it is looking very nice this morning. I have to say that this is a stock I have been afraid to 'come out of' incase I miss the expected action. It is the one stock that I have firmly believed the 'manipulation' of sp in order to shake out as the stock is needed elsewhere. I also have a small play in ENK, I'm not entirely convinced that they are behind Daintree but it will be interesting to see how this develops. It has been giving me a good insight into the workings of a possible aggresive takeover and I am looking forward to a positive outcome. There has been much talk about the 23rd May and ENK being able to bid and not pay the higher price of 200p. I was not aware that ENK would be in a financial position to take this on board. Perhaps I can be told differently.
Well, call me mad but I just bought a small amount as I think something is afoot. Paid twice as much as I sold for on friday. Crazy. Just hope I'm right and make a bit of profit here.
This link was posted on the SEY board tonight. Is it looking likely that an offer may come from Invesco? http://www.sterlingenergyuk.com/shareholderinfo.aspx
Sometimes they go through on plus market instead of lse. http://www.plusmarketsgroup.com/details.shtml?ISIN=GB00B04C8N02/GBX/PLUS-exn
I didn't have many but took a small hit. I sold 2 shares on friday and kept one, as soon as I done it I knew I had got it wrong. Have you read my blog about 'timing is crucial', I still can't get it right. A.T.B. with this (I'm kicking myself)
yeh, I know, it's because I sold on friday. lol. I guess there may be some positive news coming re contracts or pre AGM on 21st May. Well done on sticking in there.
