With regards to newspaper reporting, the lowest figure mentioned for a buy out has been 80p.
There have been much higher figures mentioned, (taking it up to about £2.34). I would think this is why people are cautious. The risk/reward ratio isn't good if the bid does turn out to be 80p so I would think many people would think twice about buying in at this level.
Of course if the bid went anywhere near the higher level we would all be laughing, but it is all still an unknown.
With that in mind 80p is fine for me, anything else is a bonus. If it doesn't happen (always a possibility) then I'm not heavily invested.
