Agree about OF. The doom mongering on that front is daft.

My money is on something with Merck, whether a 40% raise at a premium or a buyout. Despite the investor meets presentation being poor one of the positive things DP did say was that he’s very comfortable with the preclinical research that they’ve done and handed on to Merck on the vaccine front.

As far as we know merck could have already done enough analysis of it + when combined with what they already know about mrx0518 + not forgetting that the chap from mercks exploratory centre (or whatever it’s called) was on the phone asking questions on the asthma results presentation…

If nothing else I really can’t see Merck throwing away opportunities to potentially expand the use of keytruda or bavencio, the latter obviously joint with Pfizer.

Then add in to the mix ibs + parkinsons + excellent preclinical results about the potential for enhancing car-t therapy.

Who knows…

It’s one of those times when all the practice people have been diligently putting into controlling the gremlins between their ears comes to the fore and earns it’s keep so to speak.

I suspect you might have read someone on here saying $45M and that they had just guessed. If you think about it there’s no reason why the company would give estimated costs for a designated period from October, they’ll always give them it from the date the accounts/report are signed off. Conversely someone writing on here might guess an amount from October as that’s the start of Q4 and 4D’s current cash in bank will run out sometime in Q4.

Excluding the one off costs associated with listing on Nasdaq, 4D has been pretty consistent for the last 2-3 years at least running at a monthly burn rate in the region of £2M-ish (not taking into account R&D tax credits).

Crustyoete, where do you get $45M for the next 18 months from?

The annual report released in April detailed estimated operating costs for next 18 months that added up to £28.6M (sum takes into account R&D tax credits), which at todays exchange rate is $35M. I know the pound has been performing badly but not badly enough relative to the dollar to wipe $10M off the conversion since April.

It seemed a bad faith question Mike but seeing as I’m not a fan of questioning intention as the person can still be correct I thought I’d just mention a couple of obvious examples to make the point.

If I’m perfectly honest, if you are invested in 4D then I’m surprised you are asking what catalysts they have delivered. The growth drivers of pharma and biotech, especially small cap, are trials and data and they have continued to deliver on that front. The only thing holding it back is the finance and the uncertainty that’s created allowing people to pull it down. Many cash rich companies would love to be getting the trial results 4D is achieving, especially because of the placebo like safety profile.

Another potential catalyst for this year is the Parkinson trial. It’s still slated to start in the second half of the year and should hopefully bring added exposure.

Small correction to what RP said.

In the RCC arm the primary endpoint was 10% (3/30) achieving minimum 6 months steady disease or better and they achieved that early with 4/20 (not 2/20).

I'm sure they would have internally discussed whether or not fast-track was a potential possibility but I've never once heard them publicly say that they are talking to the FDA about it for mrx0518.

They didn't give a reason today. They have noted in previous presentations however that covid slowed clinical trials down industry wide and that compared to many others they did well as they managed to keep their trials going.

Yeah that's an interesting thought to ponder but I guess the primary question is whether selling it off is something they are open to doing.

If the fda got its butt in gear and got back to them on Blautix then that would be the better option. It's more advanced so likely worth more to 4D in the short-term + asthma will be a bigger market than IBS so if they could keep hold of the asthma candidate that would be better in the long-term.
