I’m not suggesting that AB shouldn’t or won't influence your thinking by what he says. That doesn’t mean AB (or any ceo) is the sole or final arbiter of investor expectations though. If that was the case then every investor in a given company would have the exact same expectations and quite obviously they don’t. Why? Because they possess the ability and freedom to research, think and reason for themselves i.e. they have agency of mind.

Not that it's relevant to the argument about who is ultimately responsible for one’s expectations, because it's not, but I did read the half year report when it was published. You are correct that AB said they expect multiple sales in the second half of 2021. Your suggestion that he was explicit that it would happen though is patently wrong. Saying that you expect something to happen doesn’t equate to guaranteeing it will happen. AB quite clearly made no guarantee nor should he of done so. Whether it’s a case of you not understanding the difference or you do but you are simply deceiving yourself or purposely lying about what he said, I have no way of knowing.

Whatever your thoughts about AB he is neither solely nor I would argue mostly responsible for your expectations. In between whatever he says and your expectations for AFC is whatever goes on between your ears. Ultimately, your expectations are your responsibility just as mine are mine.

Usually, the last thing anyone would willingly give up is agency of their mind yet that is precisely what a lot of people seem to do when it comes to their thinking and decision making.

Unless you are a short-term trader, the seemingly myopic focus on the share price of a company as a proxy for how the company is progressing or performing at any given moment in time is just plain daft.

If I thought for a second that the immediate, medium or long-term future of AFC was dependent on AB or AFC's use (or not) of twitter then I would sell my holding immediately. You must surely realise that companies were built and people invested in them perfectly well before twitter existed and that the vast majority of the world's population doesn't even use twitter (in the UK it's less than 18%).

Strongly disagree. You don't need to trust someone for them to have a valid opinion, make a good argument, cause you to see something in a different way or think about something you haven't considered before etc. Equally, people you trust can be dishonest to suit their narrative, suffer flawed thinking, be blinded by any number of biases, reason emotionally and so forth.

Besides, you are completely contradicting yourself. Since I’ve been reading this board at least you have stated numerous times that people shouldn't trust strangers on a internet chat forum.

You are being hypocritical (as mentioned at the start of this post, see the post you just left about sangi on a thread where he had made zero mention of you). When someone writes something that you don’t like even when what they write isn’t about or directed at you, or if someone that you have previously taken issue with for whatever reason writes something, you are often one of the first on here to get personal, usually but not always by going straight to step 1 in the ad hominem argument playbook and questioning the person’s motives, something that is nothing if not personal.

Sure, go back and review these two threads. “Echo echo” and “Breakout - 60p to £1”. So you can located them the last post in echo echo was 3rd nov and the last in the Breakout thread was 5th nov.

In “Echo echo” you posted a lengthy post within which you said you think that they’ve needed to refocus the trial on patients more likely to respond. Hence my claim today that you previously said you thought things weren’t going well with the trial and needed to change. Here’s that part of your post…

What changed your thinking from things must have being going badly to now thinking they must be going well, I assume it's not the stats as they haven't changed since the last readout?

That's not correct sangi, if you read what duncan said he notes that they saw statistical significance at all time points in what will be the part b endpoints.

The goal of all scientists isn't statistical significance. Statistically significant doesn't mean important i.e. practically meaningful or in medicine clinically meaningful.

Sticking with pharma as that's what 4D are in. To put it simplistically...

Statistically significant but not clinically meaningful = no good
Not statistically significant but clinically meaningful = positive outcome
Statistically significant and clinically meaningful = ideal

If you're a patient or a clinician and you have to choose between statistically significant or clinically meaningful, you choose clinically meaningful.

According to wh Ireland back in march 2020, afc were operating with incredible capital efficiency. Can't see AB changing their approach between now and then so it's fair to assume they are continuing to operate with capital efficiency.
