The fda delay with 4D Pharma has nothing to do with mrx0518, it's to do with blautix for irritable bowel syndrome. 4D have asked the fda some questions that they would like answers to before they make a firm decision on strategy for blautix P3 trial.

4D haven't submitted an application to the fda, they are waiting on answers to questions that they have put to the fda about phase III.

It's not compulsory to seek guidance for phase III trials but given live biotherapeutics is a nascent class of drug it's wise for 4D to make sure that they are covering all bases in terms of the fda's expectations and requirements.

Think of it as being similar to the EV battery market. Right now it's all about lithium ion but in the next few years steady state will start to become available. Just because it's available though doesn't mean all manufacturers will look to incorporate in all vehicles. They won't pay for a more expensive technology if the cheaper option meets their requirements for their product.

The reality is and always has been that many ii’s and professional investors don’t get involved in pharma until successful phase 2 trials have been completed as they consider successful phase 2 proof of concept. Blautix phase 2 was successful and they’ve said they’ll be an update on the strategy for blautix by year end. Once the strategy is announced I personally expect that alone to bring new investment interest without any of the other news that’s due.

itslikeacasino, the market has been buying what he's been selling so far and there's no reason to think that that won't continue to be the case should he continue to sell. Besides, he might not want to sell it all. Personally, unless it goes into the hands of 4D management I'd rather see any stock he sells get spread out over more hands and not just one, be it funds or individual investors. If you put it in the hands of one you'll just be replicating what currently exists and the inherent downsides that go along with it.

There’s only value trying to interpret them if you trade or are short. If you’re long it’s at best pointless and at worst counter productive. If you hold a negative view of the markets, as you clearly do, then you’ll potentially just end up giving yourself more ammunition to be your own worst enemy.

I get where you are coming from researcher but it genuinely doesn't get to me. If news comes out on Monday and it shoots up I won't be looking to sell, so why worry. I invest in the business not the share price and at the outset of making any investment I accept that at any given point in time and particularly over the short term, the share price of a company has at best a loose relationship with the actual business. Should anything fundamental change with the business or that I think will be negative long-term then I'll look at my position and see if I need to reconsider.

I can't speak for any individual people that short but Renaissance are the biggest and most successful hedge fund in the world. They don't get everything right but you also have to suspect they aren't complete mugs either. You can make much more profit quicker shorting than going long if you know what you're doing and have the algorithms + temperament and cheque book to back it up. They'll close sooner or later though, hopefully.

The best thing anyone that is is long on a stock can do is to work at being more comfortable with uncertainty. Contrary to what some suggest the biggest obstacle any investor faces isn't short term traders, mm's robbing retail or people shorting etc, it's ourselves and what goes on between our ears.

Renaissance technologies still have their short position open albeit only 0.50% (see the short position option tab above). There could be individual investors shorting here and there at anytime given time too though that's not unusual for biotech especially small cap which is inherently volatile.

Firstly, and this links back to the crux of my original question, if people shouldn't be influenced by strangers then what is the point of writing posts (advice wrapped up as opinion) that you believe will support them. After all, you are a stranger to the people that read this board are you not?

And no, many of your posts clearly aren't unbiased but that's fine, we all get hijacked by myside bias at times.

If you value critical thought then you need to make a conscious effort to look at the interview from different perspectives and make reasoned argument for different interpretations, even ones that you disagree with. If you can't then you're probably allowing yourself to be hijacked by motivated reasoning and myside bias.

The fda approves products that fall under the scope of their remit and they have the authority to inspect facilities such as labs and manufacturing etc to make sure that they comply with applicable regulations. That's the nuts and bolts of it.

They don't approve companies and they don't give or withhold approval for a product based on organisational structure and the person angle, for example having a cmo or not.
