His son is an advert for protecting inefficient corporations through tariffs and assisting them in wage suppression by adding to the Labour market. As regards the IB Barc has about 43bn tier capital half of which is tied up due to the IB. Since the IB makes diddly squat and has huge costs they'd be better off selling the assets of the IB and returning a pound to shareholders.

In any case there are positives in Barc re ppi and fewer fines that mean 2 pounds is a decent target if brexit is orderly.
