I can see both sides re keeping an interest or offing it completely but as I'm very confident that it, alone, is worth 2.5x the current SP/mcap to HUM it's kinda moot in the here/now.

As for Yanfolila - well if they're going to keep it going (I care not whether they do or do not) and it's likely to keep losing money over the next 12 months at the current Gold price then simply shut it down IMO - it's irrelevant at this SP/mcap IMO.

Anyway, the money guys are going to do/say whatever they're going to do/say, the disconnect between saleable value of Dugbe (and Kouroussa) is so big now that it's just a waiting game for the value to out - I'm patient and buying through H2, regardless of the price, same as my own physical Gold buying.

Sounds promising for a H2 turnaround then - drop a Dugbe sale into the mix around EoY plus whatever Gold gets up to and it could be a nice Xmas here.

Well they (barely) tapped the 12p target I shouted quite some months back so let's see - possible dump of Gold in the very short-term that may get us to 9p with a bit of luck but regardless I'm sticking with it as it'll be very short-lived even if it does happen IMO.

I figured the US Mint move was likely about pulling up the drawbridge for retail buyers - I've been buying the lower value/smaller Gold coins myself as I figure they'll be easier to sell to retail, even though you pay a few per cent premium per gram of Gold you're getting at the smaller coin level. A 1/2 Sovereign is already £200, if Gold does what I hope it's going to do over the coming 3-5 years then that's likely to be c£500 and I'd imagine trying to sell coins any higher than that to retail becomes more difficult for obvious reasons.

You've all seen the weekend reports of the G7 banning Russian Gold I take it?

It's purposely opaque of course but that's a lorra physical Gold being moved - it's almost as if someone doesn't trust someone else and/or the balloon is about to go up ...

I haven't looked and I wouldn't take one technical signal in isolation as being meaningful anyway.

Moving averages can be useful but with something as manipulated as the gold price I wouldn't take a lot of notice tbh.

That said, I think it extremely likely that they whack gold and silver for one final time over the coming weeks before the inevitable reality kicks in later in the year.

+-$200 or so is neither here nor there to my view which is why I don't suffer from the downs when they come or stress cos maybe everything is going to take longer etc. If you're not buying into gold with a view of at least a three year hold then you're in the wrong instrument for the wrong reasons imo.

I'm very comfortable with my physical stash and my holding here with the SP at 1/4 of where I'm virtually certain it will be in the year(s) to come.
