Standard MO for inflationary recessions mate - if you're old enough to remember the 1970s - people on the bottom rung(s) of the economic ladder get slaughtered so having to work 2-3 jobs is not a surprise but it is of course completely unsustainable over the longer-term and could easily spread higher up that ladder ...
This now shifts from an economic issue to a social/political issue IMO so I can imagine many folk being unsure of what happens next.
As things stand, unless next week's CPI print comes in remarkable soft then the Fed are going to have to do 75bps again in a couple of weeks time and that's really going increase the pressure(s) that are abounding now.
Biden is claiming wow look at all the jobs but they're being worked by the same people - it's really not a good look ...
It's uncertainty like this that should keep Gold shored up - banker intraday/intraweek smash n grabs aside of course.
