Extreme E Next Weekend11 Feb 2022 17:56
The second year of this event. I really hope that due to the publicity it got last season there is a snowball effect where it is even bigger this time around. For me, apart from all of the cars being electric, the way they are powered is by far the most interesting thing about the series. Not that I'm biased or anything, but the fact that the cars are charged by 100% renewable energy is still going to be one of the headlines this year, and what makes it unique. I think with one season under its belt and with this coming in to the second season it is a perfect shop window for our products. Televised, celebrity and heads of state endorsed. I am, upon reflection actually quite excited about what season two will bring. The more this tech is on the tele for all the right reasons, the more big brands will want to align themselves with it. Big brands, possibly like Amazon and Microsoft for data centres. To continue the snowball analogy, sometimes the AFC snowball slows down and turns too slowly and we get frustrated (including myself). On the evidence of the recent announcements (VARD, ABB) and communications (strong pipeline) the snowball is still turning though, and there is still a whole piste in front of it before it runs out of mountain. Bring on season 2 of Extreme E and the publicity it brings with it. DYOR.
