You got me on the Mate at NIST one however I have emailed someone there expressing my concerns and pointing out that if they does not give me the right answer, QBT is the best thing since sliced bread and Crypto Heroes in Spandex, they are obviously short or trying to get in at a lower price and have registered multiple aliases on this site.

That would be HUGE if TRUE and BlockChain would have to migrate away from SHA256 killing the egg that QBT claim to have laid.

It's an interesting line of thought. Miners know that if they buy more hashing power they make more coin. How do miners know if QBT equates to more hashing power and if so how much. Yes I know the suggestion is 2.6 but what does that really mean. Furthermore what if the method QBT uses is subject to adjustment. Can you pay extra to gain access to more likely starting points and if so what is the pricing structure. Think of it like a Gaussian Curve where the mid point is more likely. Will a bunch of 1 sigma deviation cost more than the same number of 2 sigma or can you buy twice as many 2 sigma with the 1 sigma values culled from your allotment. If so then who is the final arbiter of that value and is their any means of checking or challenging that valuation or recourse to claim. It all sounds a bit messy.
