Apologies for Friday night's rant - I blame the Smirnoff.

As for next week - the deteriorating situation in the Middle East will surely drag us down (again) - but even as I write that, I feel ashamed. People are dying, and I'm fretting about the share price. Pathetic. Sometimes I really hate myself,.

Latest figures out on Friday, I do believe, so let's so how that goes. That said, like most people here, I have a roof over my head, some food in the fridge, and a chilled vodka and coke on my bedside cabinet. So does it rally matter?

Sorry - when I started this post, I had some connection in my brain between the lyrics of this utterly brilliant Paul Simon song, and us IAG shareholders.

Sadly, due to my rapidly diminishing mental capacity (not helped by a few Peroni's, and some Smirnoff) I can longer recall that connection.

Hi fordm - nice to hear from you Yes - no doubt many of us here are guilty of FOMO, so didn't bail out when we should, because things finally seemed to be turning in favour of this sector. When will we learn? well -probably never. I believe it is called the human condition.

Anyway, I hope your new lederhosen are comfortable, and your ex-koi pond is coming along well. Are you still thinking of moving to Portugal?

As for the USA, we have lost one senile, babbling idiot - one down, one to go(Trump). Then again - who does that leave? I find it beyond comprehension that the mightiest country on the planet, that has literally 10's (if not hundreds) of thousands) of utterly brilliant people, who lead the world in every conceivable field, can't find anyone better. V.Depressing.

Still, as others here have pointed out, the price drop is just another buying opportunity. I make that 127 "buying opportunities" v's about 3 "selling opportunities". I don't want to buy any more, I just want to GET THE F**K OUT of this pile of excrement. Can't believe I didn't bail out in the 180's just a few weeks back, and EZJ at 590 just a couple of months ago. Mea culpa. Still, live and learn! NOT. I will never invest in airlines again. Just like I will never drink too much again, and never make another bad lady-related decision (on the back of that drinking).

No - really - I am a reformed character. Honest governor.

PS - I am in Sussex just now, so I hope the EZJ results are not too bad, as Beachy Head is a little too close for comfort. Then again, should it go well, I can celebrate in the finest pubs in the country. Either way - I win.

Retirement_Plan - A tad optimistic, in my opinion.

.... EZJ figures out on Wednesday, I think, so be interesting to see how that goes ( I am holding there)- and see how that impacts us here.

Given the last few years, I am not optimistic (I rarely am).

I predict 88 pence here, and £1.95 at EZJ.

Hopefully that means I will be pleasantly surprised.

After the situation in the Middle East had been walked back from the edge a couple of months ago, I actually thought we would return to the highs seen just prior to that (Ezj also). Certainly didn't see this coming (another one for my headstone).

Quite hard to fathom. and extremely annoying/frustrating/depressing. Only 9:00 am, and already considering what time would be acceptable for my first drink. Then again, looking at the sea of red on my trading account this week, I think I can only afford tap water and a (small) packet of peanuts anyway.

True dat - unfortunately, having taken the plunge at 174, it will now undoubtedly find a new trading range pf 166 - 174. I'm gifted like that -"buy high, sell low"

Possibly, at 173/174 - with a quick turnaround at 177/178. Otherwise you will be exposing yourself to the kind of never-ending psychological torment that us long term holders have suffered for years.. Luckily it hasn't affected me personally. Ha ha ha ha. HA HA HA HA HA.

Bargain6405 - my thoughts exactly. I see we have just taken another sharp drop out of the blue (quelle surprise) - anybody know why?. Only serves to reinforce my comments last night.

Apropos of nothing, my last comment has just remined me of a couple of quotes.

This share is beyond parody. Two steps forward, one step back doesn't even get close. Maybe the other way around.

I have been invested here since before covid - I used to do OK day trading it prior to that, but the last few years have been a nightmare. We are now at a slightly lower price than we were 3 years ago. Think about that - inflation has been high during that period, so all us LTH (suckers) have lost out big time, even before you consider the gains you could have made elsewhere (don't even mention Rolls).

No offence to Sund, but tomorrow is always just coming. Reminds me of a quote about an economist who had predicted "19 of the last 2 recessions".

That's enough for me - at £1.84'ish (should we ever get there), I intend to sell 70% of my holding, and move on. Life's too short.

ON the bright side for you guys, that will probably precipitate a 50% rise in the price here. I will choose to invest in something more rewarding - like booze and birds.
