"Motley Fool" is beyond parody - the share trading equivalent of "Viz" (minus the humour).

If you were thinking of investing in the toss of a coin, they would advise you to bet on heads. And tails.

Was reading somewhere the other day (can't recall where), that there is a possibility of a reduction in the amount one can invest annually, or hold tax free, in an ISA. Probably wouldn't affect my meagre investments, but could be bad news for some of you bigger hitters.

US markets having a good day, so hopefully that will translate here tomorrow.

"£7 notes for sale at £5.27 - grab 'em while you can.".

DOW and Nasdaq having a good day, so hopefully a bright start tomorrow. If that happens, I may ditch a few, just to lock in some profit, and limit my exposure.

Ftse is down, but after an early drop, IAG is up - yet again. I make it that if we finish ahead today, that would be 12 consecutive days of gain (plus the divi), which is quite amazing, and something that just a few weeks ago I had given up on ever seeing here.

Been a good couple of days for us airline investors (long overdue). This is my biggest investment, but I have also ben in IAG for some time, and they have reached £2.00, while EZJ have hit £5.00. That said, as someone else commented on here a couple of days ago, £5 is no real barrier at all. IAG hadn't been to £2 for about 3 years, while EZJ was £5.90 just a few months ago. If you look at the market cap. here, even with the extra shares in issue, the pre-covid valuation equates to about £7.80 now (and that was before the holiday component even properly existed).

Obviously other macro factors come into play, but I honestly still believe that this is badly undervalued, and today was (hopefully) the first step in a correction.

£6 is a bargain, todays price is just straight-up robbery.

There it is - I have taken a screenshot for posterity, and so that I know I'm not dreaming.

A truly momentous occasion, which will surely take its place alongside other memorable dates in history, such as the moon landing, the assassination of JFK, the fall of the Berlin wall, the 9/11 attacks, and (most notably) the release of Kylie's "Spinning Around" video (gold hotpants).

In years to come, we will all be able to sit on our respective patios, surrounded by our wide-eyed and open-mouthed grandchildren, and relate the epic tale of todays events, and what led up to it.

And for those of us fortunate enough to witness it in real time, we will be able to utter the immortal words - "I WAS THERE".

£2? This is it - potentially a momentous week. Or not.

The anticipation is killing me. The last time I was this anxious was waiting for Santa in 1971.

Nice to see that the market listened to my earlier whinge, and has responded appropriately!

Not sure where that late surge came from. but it's a welcome little bonus ahead of the weekend.

IAG/Jet2/Wizz all surging ahead, while here we are struggling to break even on the day. Frustrating, and (to me) mystifying.

Beginning to look like I may have to have two parties in one day.

Forgot to say, I can't be the only person on this board to correlate the inexorable price rise here over the last week or so, with Sundezena's absence due to being on holiday.

No offence Sund, but maybe you could stay on holiday a while longer - just until the price hits, lets say, about £2.20.

At 198 plus the recent 2.05 divi, we have effectively (sort of) hit £2 already. - so I will be having a small party later on today to celebrate.

When we actually do hit £2 (which looks like being pretty soon), I will be having another one. Much like the Queen used to have 2 birthdays a year.

I make it that we have now risen for 8 consecutive trading days, and gone from (roughly) 182.2 to 195.5, at an average gain of 1.625p per day. Should this continue (and I'm sure it will), that means that by Xmas eve we should hit roughly £3.13 by the time the markets close on Dec. 24th.

Sairfecht - good post. Don't recall seeing you here before, so welcome to this board.

1.93 plus divi means 1.95, and a rise of about 30p in the last month or so - which was enough for me to ditch some (about 16%). If (and hopefully it won't be long) we hit the mythical £2 barrier, I will ditch another chunk, and breath a big sigh of relief, after a torturous few years where anything that could go wrong did go wrong, and there were many times when it seemed like we were destined to never get back to this point.. Will keep a few for the longer term, and possibly see this more as a "day trade" share - as the 0.2% tax, as opposed to 0.5%, makes it good for that.

Anyway, congrats to all fellow long-term investors/sufferers, who are finally getting some (long overdue) rewards.

SassaJ - personally I would like to see less inequality, and a more reasonable distribution of wealth, in this country. That doesn't make me a communist.

Buffalo - I make it about 2.04 p per share (depending on the exchange rate). which if you add it on to the recent rise in the share price, means it has been a very good month or so. Should be paid early next week, which is a very quick turnaround.

Also, it's an interim divi, which means there should be more to come before long.

Quite unusual for the share price to rise when it has gone ex-divi, especially in the face of a drop in the general market. Overall, very encouraging. However, as we have seen all too often in the past, things can head south very quickly. That said, we are coming from a higher starting point, and seem more resilient to the vagaries of the market than we have been over recent times.

Going ex-dividend, I was anticipating a small drop today, so to have this rise on top of the divi is a pleasant surprise. Now up 30p in just a few weeks, and higher than it has been in 3years - almost into Dom Perignon territory. Just hope that (as GeorgeW1995 mentioned) the Yanks don't screw it up for us tomorrow.
