Just been looking at some comparison charts between IAG/EZJ/RR for the last 12 - 18 months. Very depressing. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, KIDS. I obviously have a masochistic streak that I wasn't even aware of.

Also, very concerned about ongoing macro events. Everyone is waiting for the inevitable response from Iran/ Hezbollah. A limited, tactical strike may just pass without triggering a retaliatory strike, but there is a very real possibility of this escalating, with serious consequences on many levels - including (but not most importantly) the share price here. We rarely seem to go more than a few weeks here without some kind of crisis. Thinking of selling up completely, and investing the (pitifully small) total in stamps. No doubt that would trigger some kind of international philately related crisis.

Anyway, at this point, who cares?

In the future (long after my demise) there will still be people squabbling on here about the price rising to 170/180, and the dream of £2.00.

Given that the price here is lower than it was at several points throughout the pandemic, when there were almost no planes flying, perhaps they should axe more routes, which may help propel the price upwards.

According to my Google Finance watchlist, IAG is down 31.8 pence to133.01.

Very disappointing. At first I thought there may have been an overnight nuclear war, which I had somehow slept through, but apparently not. I can only assume that the latest negative headlines around 'Strictly Come Dancing' are behind this unexpected drop. Tempted to top up at this price - a definite buying opportunity - but apart from £3.60 in my wallet, I'm skint.

Never mind - hoping for an uptick later.

Sound advice.

Despite the excellent figures, the renewed dividend, and the interest rate drop, we actually only finished up 0.3 pence last week. If it weren't for macro events, I would be looking forward to a positive week, but (as ever) there always seems to be the next cloud on the horizon.

As for the Middle East, and the possibility of negotiation/ compromise/ceasefire - I don't think so. You are dealing with people who don't think like you or I might do.

Happy days. Anyway, given the recent history of this share, even if the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine should end tomorrow, it would only be a matter of days until there was an alien invasion, or another pandemic.

Seeing what is happening at Rolls makes it even more galling for those of us invested here, rather than there. One might have thought that having doubled/trebled/quadrupled, at some point there may have been a retrace. But no - as they casually breach the £5 barrier, we (and EZJ) continue to flounder. Very, VERY depressing.
